Wideopen314, NPT had the cloud over them last week. But yu couldn't tell by the Spencer score. NPT has a very good chance over the big school, we held them well last time and as it has been said, we have gotten better.

I'm trying to fogure out how Newport is supposed to control drives and eat up the clock against a team that has given up about 70 rushing yards per game. The defense that held Newport to 6 points has only gotten better.

 

Also, I know Newport has a pretty good defense, but I'm trying to figure out how Newport is going to hold Mercer to 14 points. Mercer's offense that scored 27 points is much better than what Newport saw 6 weeks ago.

Mercer must be very careful with this bunch from Newport. Newport will make adjustments. Will they be enough. No I don't think so. I pick this to be much closer than the last meeting.

Mercer Cty should win this game by at least 3 touchdowns and possibly more, There appears to be something of a cloud hanging over things at Newport with the recent arrest of a teacher and the fallout that may come with it.

Wish Newport the best but think this is where the season comes to an end for the Woldcats..
