Seriously I hate to bring this guy up, but I think I know one of the infamous recruiting trips Zach Smith didn’t show up for. How the hell does Ohio State miss on Rondale Moore? That’s embarrassing.

 

I’m sure that PLENTY others are thinking that now too.

Rondale Moore might win a Heisman. That dude is unbelievable.

 

 

I recorded the game on my DVR. After watching, it’s hard to disagree. That’s if he’s around long enough. If Moore keeps playing as he is and remains healthy, he will be playing sooner than expected on Sundays.

I've only watched them a few times casually, so I have no idea about this...but why can't they run better? Poor line, poor RB play, poor run game design...what is the issue?

Poor line and game design IMO. To be 100% honest a lot of it has to do with Urban’s stubbornness.

I think it’s time to get Tate Martell a little more involved in the red zone game plan. Urban won a national championship with a two QB system bringing Tebow in for red zone plays. I’m not saying every time they get in the red zone to bring Tate in, but they have to do something to spark the running game and Tate gives you that dynamic that has been a calling card for Urban Meyer offenses but is lacking this year. But if we start giving Tate more opportunities during every game and also give him a couple passes as well it will help our 3rd and short and 4th and short chances. You are at a disadvantage trying to gain that yard running the ball when the QB is in shotgun. You have to have a QB who is a threat to pull the ball so the DE doesn’t crash on the RB every time.

Your answer here is spot on with Neil Callaway, Tee Martin, Clay Helton and my USC Trojans. USC and Ohio St. have too much talent for their offensive lines to play as bad. It is coaching in Los Angeles. What about in Columbus?

Coaching. We both know how talented the backs are in Pasadena and Columbus. What cost Ohio State that game was 100% coaching. The players have to be put in a position to be successful and they haven’t been since the beginning of the year. We have two guys coming back soon who should be able to provide some depth and allow OSU the opportunity to get the best guys out there. But last night was just being unprepared. Isaiah “False Start” Prince was horrific. Then they lined up too many guys in the backfield two plays later and that’s just the first drive. It’s mind boggling.

Urban will never fix something proactively, takes an embarrassing loss to consider change. Also, if you win a starting job at OSU in August, 90% of the time, it’s yours until January.

Well hopefully this is the 10% of the time. As great as Urban is, we both know this is what separates him from Saban. Saban doesn’t wait til a loss to make changes.

OSU came out flat and remained that way throughout the game. Passing the ball 73 times in a game only shows zero confidence in a running game and any team has to be able to run the football to win. If not, you get what OSU did last night.

There's a lot of work, including attitude adjustments to be made.

I was thinking the same. Brohm may be at Purdue next season but imo not much longer. As soon as the right job comes open then it's Boiler out for him.

I still think the Iowa loss last year was a more heartbreaking loss than this. The loss last year came off one of the most exciting games I’ve ever seen against a really good team. That loss was just unexpected. While I wouldn’t have bet on OSU losing against Purdue, I did expect a bad game from OSU and Purdue winning wouldn’t have shocked me in the slightest.

Saban with Bama does not lose games like this.

Now Saban with other teams lost games he should not have.

 

Urban is with a school where he should be like Saban is now.
