October 23, 20187 yr Never once did I say they wouldn't rebound. What I am saying I don't care what they do the rest of the way. Unless other teams completely tank. OSU should not be deserving of be rewarded as being one of the top 4 best teams in the country. Top 4 best teams in the county don't get beat down by a bad team. With that said I think it will be a mute point. I said after Notre Dame beat Michigan and I have a friend bet with JA on it. That Michigan would beat OSU finally this year. I said that at the beginning of the season after Michigan lost. So zero reason for me to believe other wise now. So most likely won't even have to worry about a 1 lost OSU even being in the discussion. Which they shouldn't be in the discussion even with 1 lost unless other teams help them out in drastic way. We’ll see. Too many assumptions on your part if you’re asking me especially when it comes to Texas/ Oklahoma. I’m just glad Michigan is competitive again. The majority of the players on both teams were in middle school last time Michigan won.

There is a potential for some blue blood programs to not make the tournament with some real legitimate arguments. Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio State, Bama, LSU, Georgia, Notre Dame. What would happen to a non SEC Champ one loss Bama? A one loss Notre Dame? Ohio State has zero argument of deserving to be in, unless all these other program fall and fall badly. Some people are acting like it was a simple lost for OSU and that was it. They got BEAT DOWN by a bad Purdue team. It wasn't just an off day where they barely lost to a team when they had an off day. Top 4 teams in the country don't get beat down by bad teams. So OSU literally has zero argument, and would have a same to have an underserving team such as them make it over any other one lost team. As long as those teams don't have such an embarrassing beat down lost to a bad team like they did.

We all believe Bama is the best team but there isn’t any shame in losing at LSU at night. But that’s Bamas only real chance to pick up a huge win and if they lose they don’t get that game with Georgia. I know people want to talk bad about Ohio States loss to Purdue and deservingly. It will and should be held against them. But Bamas resume will be almost identical to last year if they lose to LSU. If Ohio State runs the table (which is a big if right now), they will have an almost identical resume to last year if not slightly better due to a win against Michigan, except this year they will only have 1 loss. The committee really debated putting Ohio State in last year with 2 losses with one being a blowout. I think if people think Alabama would be automatic at that point aren’t looking very clearly. Let’s say Clemson runs the table, Alabama loses to LSU, LSU wins the SEC, ND drops a game, Ohio State/ Michigan win B1G with one loss, Texas/ Oklahoma win Big 12 with one loss. Clemson and LSU are locks. Then you look at the one loss teams and start ranking based on resume. It would go 1)Texas/ Oklahoma 2) Michigan/ Ohio State 3) Alabama. That’s chaos. The only criteria Bama would win with is “eye test”. No matter what Bama is one of the 4 best teams, but how will the committee prove that? I’ve theorized for years that they choose the 4 teams then look for criteria and data to justify their decisions. If Alabama loses to LSU I guess we’ll find out if that’s true.

I get your point and I’m really not trying to debate semantics of a butt kicking, but this loss is different than Iowa last year. Purdue got 2 late TDs after the game was already iced.

Not because I think LSU is the second best team, but I do think that as you say Death Valley is probably the toughest environment to play in in college football especially if they play “Neck”. It’s crazy what the student section telling profanities can do for a home field advantage. I just don’t see any team for that matter competing with Bama on a neutral field. I just don’t think there is a defense good enough to slow down Tua. I think the craziest thing to me is that the year Bama finally needs to have a QB in order to win a national championship because the defense had slipped, they just go out and produce the greatest college football QB I’ve ever seen. That’s just not fair man.
