Bengals Burfict gets disciplined again

Featured Replies

NFL fines Bengals Vontaze Burfict $112,000 for three hits against Pittsburg Steelers. Setting the table for a real short season this year.

If you have to fine a guy that much he should be suspended

He has no chance now. He is on the NFL hit list and he will never get off. Somebody watches him Monday through Saturday let alone Sunday. He will never be effective again in the NFL. But it is his fault.

I would have to see the hits. The Antonio Brown hit is a complete joke if they fine him for that. Watch an NFL game tomorrow. You will see a half dozen hits like that in every game. If I were the Bengals, I would compile a video with similar hits and send it to the NFL and ask for discipline against every player. I bet there will be at least 50 hits in the video.

A direct hit in the head.

I don't know if this routine or the norm; but, Steelers were reported (by a Pittsburgh local TV station)as compiling the three hit tape and sending it to the league with their accusations noted.

In a side note, he missed a sideline tackle that resulted in a big 1st down and the cameras showed him on the bench, sulking with his helmit off. Why? I thought he missed the tackle because he tried not to tackle the runner aggressively high where he probably would draw a flag. The refs have turned him into a eunich.

Every team sends a tape each week to the league with questions or complaints about calls.

He was on the sideline with a shoulder injury, not sulking.

Nkubaseballclub19, you informed me on both issues I was unaware. Thanks.

I was thinking the exact same thing. It's very easy to make almost every single tackle in a game look dirty if you freeze the picture on contact. He created this for himself when it comes to people watching him. However some of these hits people call dirty are normal every day football plays that every player does. Only difference is they dont freeze frame each hit to point it out as dirty.

No it wasn’t.

I haven’t seen what other hit the Steelers complained about outside of the Brown hit, but the Brown his was absolutely nothing. If Tez is going to get fined for hits like that, then just ban him already because that’s clearly the path the NFL is on if they are fining him for perfectly legal hits now.

A small price to pay for maintaining his rep as the NFL bad boy.

Were it not for his cheap shots, fines, suspensions, he'd simply be another NFL player and no one would know who he is. But because of his antics, he maintains his cred, builds on his reputation and has become a household name.

.....And that's what it's all about!!!!!

It's pretty incredible so many people still defend him.
