Steelers 28 Bengals 21

Featured Replies

Steelers would’ve been about 4-5 yards outside of range if the penalty is called. With three timeouts. And with the Bengals not covering a TE all day, they most likely are easily back into range.

Maybe not snap the ball with 17 seconds on the play clock is something they could’ve done to manage the clock better.

Once again Steelers would have had time for one play and one play only if they call the opi.

And so basically your only beef with the Bengals last touchdown drive is one play? Ok then.

Still leading the division need to keep taking care of business and try again on Dec. 30 or maybe that game won't matter.

But after the 23 yard pass foe the first down they snapped the next play with :17 seconds left on the play clock. If they would have took :15 more seconds off they would not have had time to run that last play would have had to kick a 50-51 yard FG for the win. That's a big difference..

And guarntee you most of the same people screaming they left to much time. Would still be screaming that with 58 seconds left and 3 timeouts left for the Steelers and Steelers kick a 51 yarder for the win.

I’m not going back to watch the sequence again so I’ll tip my hat and assume you’re right they only would’ve had time for one pay.

And my beef is that once again, they didn’t manage the clock properly. It’s happened time and time again throughout history. They run the clock down, it’s less time on the clock when PIT gets the ball. It changes the play calling with less than 1 minute left.

After today, Roethlisbergerer is 13-2 at PBS. His overall quarterback rating was over 104 before today’s game too. He can definitely claim a road game against Cincinnati as a home game with those kinds of numbers.

Not sure how you can knock Marvin for clock management on this one... What were they supposed to do, not score?

When they scored, though, I told my buddy I was watching with it was way too much time. 1:20 and three timeouts is a life time, especially only needing a field goal.

I agree, you have to be able to play defense for a little over a minute regardless of who it’s against.

When you throw 46 passes without 1 QB pressure you should put up some good numbers, sorry guys, that just blows my mind, once again, hands around our throat!!

You dont have to go back to watch it. Pittsburgh scored with 10 seconds left. So if the penalty was called, it would have still been 10 seconds left. Time doesnt get put back on, and they would have been 10 yards further back.

It’s aggravating, but it also is what it is.

If they (Bengals) had snapped the ball :15 seconds later on the first and 10 at the 11 they (Steelers) would not have had time to run the last play with :15 seconds to play. They would have had to try a 49 or 50 yard FG for the win with 1 or 2 seconds to play.

Which they did once they got to the 10. Rememebr they went from the 34 to the 11 yard line on the 23 yard pass to Green, and they then took their time.

Once again nothing about that last drive was wrong or should have been done differently. Except for hoping the Steeleers tackle them at the one, instead of Mixon scoring.

Bengals did exactly what they should have done. Scored before they incurred a penalty or turned the ball over. The whole "they scored too early" is baloney.

Steelers had limited time to drive down the field, but the defense didn't stop them. End of story.

First time in three years I wasn’t at this game. Part of me wishes I was there, but another part is glad I wasn’t. Bengals fans would have been extra nasty after that one.

They don't have to wash Ben's uni prior to the next game. It's still spotless.

Well, I have seen this script before. Bottom line, story of the game. No pressure on Ben, end of story. You score when you can, ridiculous to not to. Probably could have taken 20-30 seconds more, would not have made a difference IMO. They had the timeouts they did not use.

My only complaint is we didn't play to win this game the whole game. We had the ball 4th and 1 on the forty with the first drive of the second half and punt. I don't like that unless you are ahead by two scores. Other than that, we just got outplayed. Could calls have gone the Bengals way? Of course, they didn't and it was not an awful game by the officials.

The Bengals defense is not playoff caliber, end of story. Good defenses win those games.
