This post is a response to the last comment in the update thread made by @BIGZIG. Beechwood leaves their starters on the field until it is a running clock. Do you think a team should remove their starting players in the first half if a game even before it is a running clock?

The running clock response. I knew that wouldn't take long. 35 to 0. 1 minute left be for the half. Keep the ball on the ground. If they score that way I'm fine with it. Passing is called running up the score even its be for halftime. I'm sure that in the 3rd quarter they would have got their running clock early. Pretty much why I never pull for Beechwood in the playoffs. CLASSLESS!!!

Oh yeah, not much of a turnout by the Beechwood faithful. They dont go to games that they are going to clobber someone and they make a poor showing when they know they will get beat. (CovCath game)

Lol Classless!!!! Beechwood is still a work in progress with their passing game so they use their Varsity time to work on what they need to and unfortunately that’s the passing game. Right now teams are trying to get better for playoff runs and if that means you make people mad then so be it.

 

Ludlow did a really good job tonight against the run and your boys played hard the whole game. I hope they do well the rest of the season and we get to see you all again in the playoffs!!!

The TD right before half was scored on a QB draw. Good teams work on getting better at things, like trying to work on a 2 minute offense. Beechwood works on trying to win state titles. Hopefully Ludlow can get a win in the first round of the playoffs this year.

I am disappointed in these posts. I saw good sportsmanship on the field tonight. I don't believe the Ludlow players and coaches agree with your posts.

Silly to think teams should quit trying to execute to their best before running clock. Playoff prep critical. Good luck to Panthers.

I was not at this game, but I am a Ludlow graduate. So obviously I understand maybe not liking Beechwood. However based off what I read in the update thread. I have no problem and see no problem with Beechwood trying to score again before half after the interception with a minute left.

 

At that point Beechwood had a punt return for a td and a pick 6. So the offense had only scored 21 points and not on field much. It's not a running clock yet, and a chance for the offense to work on 2 minute offense before half. Plus if you get to the running clock, then you have halftime to decide how to play the second half. You want the game to go quick to avoid injuries then after that. So I see no problem with it.

 

Ludlow has wins of 48 to 0 and 56 to 0 over Bracken and Gallatin County this year. I would assume Ludlow had first team in till at least running clock in those games too. Which nothing wrong with that and nothing classless about that and I don't think anyone complained about that. Just like there was nothing classless about this imo. So I will have to agree to disagree with my fellow Ludlow person on this, based off just what I read in the update thread.

 

Now if they did that at the end of the third quarter, then maybe. But in that situation with how the game was. I see no problem with it.

It was 100% a QB draw!!!!!

Like I said, hopefully Ludlow gets out of the first round of the playoffs this year. It would be nice to have someone other than Beechwood representing our district in the 2nd round.
