Ashland 17 Mason Co. 0

The defense looked outstanding tonight, maybe it was partly because Cox was out. The offense did look sloppy except I thought when they ran the quick hitters up the middle. Still too many penalties and mistakes, but in the playoffs a win is a win.

Will Ashland be able to compete this time around with JC?

As mentioned above, please leave Ashland / JC discussion for a Prediction thread. This thread is only for this game.

Thanks.

What's a quit hitter?

Congratulations to Ashland on the Victory.

Tough for Mason Co to go into a playoff game without their starting QB.

Didn't see that in your post...my bad...

I don't know. You're the first person I've ever seen mention it.

I think the edit button changed it to quick.

Except for Blues Brother in post #16. Looks like it has been edited, however.

Congrats to the team on the win. Ashland's defense played very well, but I just don't think the Cats are playing very well as a whole. There were way too many penalties, and I thought the offense looked sluggish at best. The fullbacks (Davis and Cordle) ran the ball hard as always, but it seems that the Tomcats look worse everytime I see them.

I have to agree, sometimes the Tomcats look great and then its like they have no desire to play the game at all.??????

Congrads on a playoff win.

Good win by the Tomcats tonight. Mason's offense obviously struggled without its starting QB, but its always a good thing when you can hold a goose egg on the opposing team. Congrats to Mason on a great season and Tomcats we will see you next week.

By the way it was great to meet Phil Hay before the ballgame. You were a lot younger than I expected Phil. :thumb:

Thanks I think.

Does that mean that I post like an old man or just look younger than what I am?

Great to meet you too LRCW. Take care of those lovely twins of yours. I know it is great being a Dad, but you know times 2.

Who played QB for Mason tonight?

They used Jeremy Thompson and Jackson Tolle both tonight. I think both guys did a GREAT job considering the circumstances. Mason County got beat but I am really proud of those guys for gutting it out. It was an uphill battle all night but still hung in there. But with a class act like Coach Buchanan you can not be surprised by the character these guys displayed.

And as far as Ashland "not playing well".... This time of year you survive and advance. That is the name of the game.

Good luck to Ashland and JC. Represent our district well down the road.

Nice win for the Tomcats.

Note: please keep this thread on this game please. Save the Ashland / JC talk for a prediction thread. Thanks.

I just started the Johnson Central vs. Ashland thread.
