Well I doubt he'll be resigning with Nationals. Turned down $300,000,000 ten year deal with the club.

I say he signs with Yankees and plays first base.

Can you imagine turning down a contract for $300 million? What a time to be alive.

It is for athletes.

30 million for a guy with one 100 RBI season coming off a year where he batted under .250. Life must be great.

The talk on The Dan Patrick Show this morning made it sound like Philly is the expected landing spot. They also said that Harper/Boros is wanting a 13 year contract.

Why would anyone want to go to Philly, unless they were offering way more than anyone else were willing to offer?

Short right field fence and Harper is from New Jersey, which is just across the river from Philly.

The greed of multi-millionaires never ceases to amaze me.

This. He's really only had 1 season worthy of the the contract he is asking for. He's a good player but overrated in my opinion.

I get what you're saying, but doesn't everyone want to maximize their earnings?

Sure. But you get to a certain point where it really doesn't matter how much money you make because you are making so much. $300 million is beyond that point, IMO.

13 YEARS!?! Nobody is worth that.

He's actually from Las Vegas. Left the Las Vegas HS his sophomore year and got his GED so he could make himself eligible for 2010 Draft. Nationals took him #1 in 2010 draft after he had a stint at a junior college in Nevada.
