I know that I will be in the minority but for the life of me I cannot figure out why any of the State Finals would occur on a Sunday. Some think I am just being old school but it is just not right. I don't care of the reasoning (excuse) that people give. I know we have 6 classes; truthfully, if we had 10 classes or 2 classes - don't play the game on a Sunday!

 

People like me (and again, I know I am in minority) are avid Bluegrass Prep football fanatics and to watch the games all throughout the season and not have the chance to go to the most important game....

 

Regardless of the team(s) that make it to the final - whoever plays on Sunday will have a good amount of their fans that simply cannot make the game. People can slice and dice it all they want, but it is just not right

Same can be said for Friday, that a good amount of their fans can't make it because they work.

 

I work more Saturdays than not, I'd had trouble some years getting off on Saturday to attend the finals.

 

I get what you are saying, but what ever day they are held it will be a hardship on some to attend.

I just wish it was Friday and Saturday. That's a lot easier for me to do.

Have a tailgate service in the parking lot before the game if the concern is about missing church.

It really is not just personal preference. It is just how our society rolls. This would have never even been a consideration 20 years ago; not an option back in the day. I know, and am fully aware that the world we grew up in no longer exists. Although that is a true statement doesn't mean we have to like it.

I'm not the biggest fan of it on a Sunday either, but I've always thought the Friday games were a bad idea.

 

I'd take Saturday and Sunday every time over having Friday involved.

Because of my work schedule the only game I could attend last year was the Sunday game and I loved it. I guess I am new school. I love championship games on Sunday afternoons. Church in the morning. Lunch after church with the family. Game at 2:00. I fail to see an issue other than folks just being old and afraid of a change in their routine.

I think it will be 1A and 3A on Friday, 2A/4A/6A on Saturday, and 5A on Sunday afternoon.

Any event can have any price if people are willing to pay it. The NCAA has discovered that $12.50/15 is the amount people are willing to pay to watch D3 football. The KHSAA will/has found out that people are willing to pay $15 for high school football. That's supply and demand; there's no law that says one event shouldn't cost more than another just because the participants are older.

That's easy to say when you are close to the venue. Not everyone in the state is that close. It's more than just "old and afraid" of change. Come on man...

If I want to do something I am going to do it. People choose not to go on Sundays for whatever reason. I’m not buying that people can’t. If it ain’t old and afraid of change then what is it? Why can’t you go on Sunday? Because you don’t want to or what? Let me know.

Not even slightly. If I wanted to go I would go. The game being on a Sunday would NEVER be an excuse for me if I really wanted to do it.

 

Oh, and when the games were in Bowling Green and I wanted to go we stayed there all weekend and came home Sunday nights. So yes, I would have been there if they played on Sunday.
