If UL fans really believe that they can go undefeated and play in the NC games then I don't think that the goal post should be torn down. Especially since UL fans would like for us to think that they are now part of the elite in college football. UL fans seem to think that they will win and some seem to think quite easily. I don't see why you tear down the goalpost in that situation.

If UL wants to believe that they are on the big time program level and think they are up there with the elites then I wouldnt be tearing the goal post down in this one. Those teams dont tear goal posts down after big wins.

While it would be a huge win, being among the elite means acting as if you are elite. Sure, you don't always get a chance to beat the #3 team in the country, but you have to win with some control, IMO.

Ranked teams should NEVER tear down the goal posts.

In the eyes of betters in Vegas and across the country UL is the underdog as over 63% are betting on WVA. And WVA is ranked higher = goalposts? I say yes.

So by that logic, Michigan should have torn down the goalposts in South Bend earlier this year? Show some class and act like you've been there before. If you're really a national championship contender you don't need to be tearing down goalposts. I always hear how Louisville wants to be taken seriously, as an elite program. First, you have to beat an elite program(and no Miami doesn't count, but WVU would). Second, you have to act the part. You can't go tearing up the town just because you beat a good team. You don't see OSU, Mich, Texas, etc. even thinking about such things. IMO, tearing down the goalposts implies a few things. First, it says that you weren't supposed to even be in a close game, much less win it. Second, it says that the game is, without a doubt, your biggest win of the year. Is that really the message you want to portray?

There is no way to justify tearing down goal post these days! Too many people have been hurt, and killed, because of such heinous acts by other fans.:irked:

I have a buddy who works for ABEL Construction, the company building the new practice facility for the UL basketball team. About a week ago he told me they were called over to help install the collapsable goalposts so that they can take them down after the game is over. I'm sure this game is one of the biggest reasons why it was done.

Speak of the devil... do you know what today is... NOVEMBER 1, 2006; if anyone is coming to Murray to try out a Blizzard or Peanut-Buster Bar for the next 4 months you might as well just turn around and go back where you come from. The DQ will be back in business in the Spring.
