Josh Gordon to be released by Cleveland

Featured Replies

Word is that they will release him Monday. I have to think he's had some sort of relapse to past problems.

You have to worry what this will mean for Gordon going forward and how it will impact his life.

Showed up late Saturday and they think he is doing drugs.

None of the reports that I have seen say anything related to drugs, they all say he injured his hamstring in a promotional shoot not sponsored by the team.

If Josh Gordon was doing drugs he wouldn’t be released by the Browns, he’d be suspended by the NFL. That guy gets tested so much I’m sure that drug use wouldn’t be “thought”, it’d be known.

Saw that several teams have contacted the Browns with interest. Would you want your favorite team to trade for him at this point?

He's such a weapon. A perfect fit for him would be Carolina, just an opinion

Wouldn't surprise me either way. NFL has a procedure in place. If it's not a big hit on a weekend it can take time to get a decision. I could see the Browns trying to deal him before a suspension is issued.

With that said I could see people trying to hurt trade value with rumors as well.....

Not sure how it all plays if he's released.

Mary Kay Cabot reported that he showed up late to practice on Saturday and that the team felt he didn’t seem like himself and they told him they were going to release him.

Something was up with Josh. Whether it was drugs or alcohol, something was up.

The second part definitely happened last night. He was trying to outrun a drone for an unauthorized promo video and blew his hammy.

The "showed up acting strange" this morning stuff is swirling but not concrete. Possible, but not confirmed as there are conflicting reports...

How sad for Josh Gordon.

I can think of a pretty good QB that could really use a weapon on the outside with Gordon's particular skill set....

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me 43 times....

Gordon went on an on-field tear five seasons ago, and we keep holding out hope that 1) He still has that in him; 2) Can keep his head on straight. Again, this was 2013 when he burst on the scene. Since then he has played in 11 out of a possible 50 games.
