In your opinion how does the best Nike compare to this shoe?

 

Prior to this shoe, I’d been wearing mostly some version of the Nike Free. The Ultraboost is a little heavier, but more firm, and stable (at least for me). I usually buy a few pair at a time every 15 or 18 months. I typically buy my shoes from Eastbay when the older styles get marked down. They’ve always got a 20% or 25% off code+free shipping going on, and you can get $100 plus shoes for right around $60-$70.

Big fan of Cole Haan dress shoes. Also just got a pair of Tecovas boots that I really like so far.

 

A good pair of dress shoes can last ages if you treat them well. I’ve got a couple pairs of Johnston & Murphy’s that I’ve had for longer than I can remember. Love them.

 

I have a couple pairs of Rockport Oxfords that I wear as everyday courthouse shoes. Look like they must have cost at least $80 more than they did and are extremely comfortable. Most unexpected turnout for a purchase of clothes or shoes I’ve ever made.

Sperry for casual, whatever is on sale in the athletic shoe, but I am close to buying anything that has velcro.

- Ultraboost or NMD's to just wear around

- Oomhs flip flops (these are the best).

- No Bull crossfit shoes

- I have been running in Hokka Ones, but just bought a pair of On Cloud running shoes so we will see how they go.

I had to shut down the forum a couple of weeks ago to afford those Ultraboosts from Adidas direct.

These are still pretty high on my list.

I'm not partial to any brand, nor do I ever pay premium prices for shoes.

 

Typically I will go to a place like Burlington Coat Factory and search their racks, which do have all of the popular brand names, but at a fraction of the cost.

 

If I try a pair of shoes on, and they fit and are comfortable, and I like the looks of them, and they appear to be durable and lasting, I don't care what brand they are because I typically find a decent pair, and don't pay an arm and a leg to have them.

 

Rarely do I pay much more the about $30 bucks for a pair of a brand named shoe, and sometimes I'll even find something in the $15-$20 range on their clearance rack.

I paid about $80 for my Ultraboosts. I just did a quick check on Eastbay, and there aren't any Ultraboosts to be had for under $130. Looks like the deal I got is long gone.....

I always have a pair of Sperry canvas shoes in the closet to put on for casual summer wear. I also have a pair of Birkenstock and Chaco sandals that I wear a lot in the summer.

2 things determine shoes for me.

1 is price and the

2nd is how comfortable they are. I have tendinitis in both ankles so I need a shoe with some arch and that are comfortable.

If you polish and condition regularly and know a good cobbler, a pair of nice dress shoes can literally last forever. One of the best investments I can think of when it comes to shoes. My dad always wore Rockport’s when I was growing up so I guess I’ve never really given them a chance. Haha
