CCH 29 HHS 27 part deux

Featured Replies

Who are some of CCH's key backups at some of their skill positions.

There is not much depth for CCH at the skill positions. The backup QB this year is John Wehry who is the current JV QB I believe. Zach Isler, who would be the current backup is out for the year. At RB, Buckley and Brown share duties. WR-I saw Hennessey in the game Friday and he didn't play much all year. The guys you saw Friday are typically the only guys you will ever see on the field.

I didn't know that there was an independent party (Henry521) who was responsible for checking the statistics for football players and reporting on accuracy. I'd be interested in hearing about his/her findings over the past few years. Is this a paid position?

I haven't heard anyone mention the missed field goal by HHS. Not that it lost the game for them because I never feel one play wins or loses a game but that was big. Especially since it would've made the game winning touchdown the potential tying touchdown...or winning if Rodenberg has a pair...

perhaps because you never want to single out a play because it would single out a player. Every player on HHS team played as hard as they could on every play. To look at one play as pivotal over all the others is unfair.

It's pretty simple. When someone makes a comment on the number of tackles or whatever happens in the game and I question the accuracy , I just watch the tape. Not a big deal.

So Henry521, what do you usually find? Just curious.

That most things that the intellegent posters of BGP's post are fairly accurate. It's just nice to have a tool to verify info.

It's Sunday morning and I'm relaxing with a hot cup of coffee but in about an hour or so I will probably sit back and watch the tape. Really hasn't been my choice of things to watch due to the outcome.

CCH's backup QB is John Wehry. However, if it were an emergency situation like an HHS game, I'm almost positive Kyle Furnish would come in.

Also, get real about the scoreboard thing, who cares? As a CCH fan and former player, a win should be good enough (as they haven't come too often in this series). If you'll remember, HHS left the 18-15 score on the scoreboard in 01 so I'm sure nothing was meant by not leaving this year's score up.

HHS, PLEASE WORK ON GETTING BETTER FIELD POSITION. It is an uphill battle when the worst field position the Colonels had all night was on the 35 yard line. Also do not continue to let the fullback and tight end release without being touched. FUNDAMENTAL FOOTBALL. You can get by with this against teams that have far less talent, and are not well coached. Cov Cath is neither. Go Birds!

Untrue...Could've been a bad hold, bad snap. There could've been penetration. Too many factors to put it on one kid. Another factor is that they didn't give him a great angle to kick it. High school hashes are so far that something that close on the hash is a real tough kick. I doubt that's why it wasn't brought up...

drove 31/2 hrs from western ky. for my yearly nky hs. football fix. wow what a game athough my alma mater was on the loosing end. nothing compares to nky football and hope those who get to enjoy it on a weekly basis appreciate it. as for the game, haven't seen a cch D with that much speed in years. #26 and #30 were all over the field. return team must be really scary for dale to give your offense the ball on the 35 to 40 every drive???? both offensive lines were very impressive. sure wish dale would throw a 10 -15 yd pass and use that big tight end on occassion to spread the defensive a bit. guess when you can gain 5-7 yds at will running 4-5 different plays why change. dissapointed hhs defensive gave up 29 pts. hope coaches have a plan in the rematch for putting some pressure on the qb for round two or i fear the same result. thought both teams played , won and lost with class. love seeing opposing players help each other up after big hits. quess the jv squads haven't been paying attention to the upper classmen in this reguard. cch student body is the best and that's coming from a die hard birds fan. expect round two to be equally competitive just have to decide wether to give up my uk- vandy tickets to see the rematch. doesn't sound like much of a dillema does it? by the way, i've seen the purples play about half of their games and feel like either nky representative will be state champs provided no surprises from the mountains await. purples have 4 0r 5 true d-1 caliber players but still like the birds and colonels 22 best on the field overall. again what a game and well worth the 7 hr. round trip!!!

17 tackles. Needs 7 more to break the single-season CovCath record, and I believe 34 more to break 400 on the year.

BTW to anyone who read my post earlier that was removed by the mods, I am terribly sorry. I clearly broke a rule and was not thinking straight at the time.

Flynn had 8 tackles and a few assists.

I hope in two weeks the game isn't televised. I really think that this was an advantage for CCH with the tv timeouts. They have far more players going both ways. Hoping for an Indian summer: about 85 degree's and sunny for the next game.

Sutton played both ways. Flynn played a fair amount both ways. B Brown played some offense but not the entire game. Kater played some D. Anyone else?

The young men who play for CovCath or the Team from Ft. Thomas by this time in the season are in such good shape, that I doubt that it would matter if the weather was 85 degree's at the game. Both teams should have all their starters well rested, as this weeks matchup for either team shouldn't be much of a game, and yes I understand one game at a time.:D :D

Flynn played football at CCH with my son, when he played jv.He should be near 400 tackles. Heck shouldn't be to tough, when you play high school football for as many years. The lost stinks... Win the big one Birds.
