This is a special year for Raceland football and proof of that will begin in earnest this Friday night. I hope the Rams stay focused and take care of Paris early and do so without any injury.

Yeah I agree, maybe if the Rams offense wouldn't score so quickly with all the big plays we could actually control the clock. Dang us for being so efficient.:lol: Seriously as TGf stated the Raceland defense and special teams add a lot to this. Raceland's "orange crush" defense has many times this season stopped the opposition and left the offense in great field postion with a short field. Nice problem to have.:thumb:

One would think something might change, can't go back and do the same thing that didn't work the week before.

 

I wasn't able to make it- but heard all about it.

So let's hope the other half of the Paris team will show up and be ready to play. They are more then capable of winning.

 

Good win Rams, I heard you all were very physical.

Raceland had the big plays in Round 1 (A fumble for a TD, a punt return for a TD, Paris Fumbeled and Raceland scored on the next possession, and a 73 yard bomd for a TD) If Paris was able to keep Raceland from making these big plays, then you could have had a 24-8 ballgame. Hats off to Raceland for being ready to play. I believe you make your own breaks and Raceland made the breaks in round 1. Paris did the samething against Raceland that they did against Frankfort and LCA, they laid down. The Paris Greyhounds are creatures of comfort. When they face a weaker team they are all over them, but in their 3 losses this year, they laid down, because they were hit in the mouth from the beginning to the end.

 

Round 2:

Paris did some good things in the 2nd half, they held Raceland to one score. This game Friday night comes down to whether or not Paris can find their heart this week. If they can't, then Raceland travels to LCA the following week. If they do find it, then I honestly believe that Paris will beat Raceland.

Do the Paris players believe they have a shot though?

I agree that Paris is very capable of coming down here to RamLand and beating us this week. Paris has some very good athletes and are capable of beating anyone. I hope both teams come out of this game injury free.

Hey everyone just heard from the Denton family. Brett has a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season. Tyler only has a bruise so thats good . The Denton's maybe coming to Lex to meet with a surgeon to see what the best game plan would be. I hate to see that because Brett is such a fine young man and very good leader on the team.

I hear that on flimthe hit that hurt Bret was an intentional IMO this player should be banned from play till the injured player returns to play and if caught again banned from football. PLayers work hard to learn the game they can learn not to take cheap shots. Im not talking about accidents or clean hits just intentional cheap shots

I know nothing about the hit I asked the Denton's if they thought it was a intentional cheapshot. They being the wonder christian people they are said that it was a football injury. I have heard that it was the same kid that hit Tyler also, if it is it( game film) needs to be sent to khsaa and looked at completely.

Let me recommend Dr. Rick Lyons - he is the BEST in Lexington.

He ended up performing the surgery on my son last year and he came back to play the last 9 games of his Senior year for LCA only 13 weeks after surgery!

He also worked his tail off to do that.

 

Dr. Lyons is very good and I can get his cell# to the Denton's if you PM me...

Thank you for the info they have an appt in lexington already Sorry your son was hurt but hurray for his recovery I hope it was not a cheap shot We really must let everyone we will not except this kind of play any more football is a game of skill not attrition heaven knows with the speed and strenght these kids have its rough enough

Thanks for the update on Brett & Tyler. My Prayers are sent for Brett & his family. Brett will surely be missed. He was a big part of the Rams success and though only a Soph. was a leader on and off the field. I want to say a big thank you to Brett for his hard work & dedication this season. It has been a pleasure to watch you play. Get well soon & begin your road back to recovery. Your Christian Faith will get you through the tough times.

 

Good news that Tyler has only a bruise. He is also a vital part of the Ram program and his services will be needed. Great kid with great family support. Get well buddy, we're Praying for you.

Brett actually has a torn MCL and a sprained ACL. I talked to him today and he said they are not sure if surgery will be required or if the injury can heal on its own. Brett will be out for the rest of the season.

Does anyone know what time the game starts? WLGC said 8:00 KSHAA also has game time for 8:00.
