Paris @ Raceland (GAME 2) Predictions

:thumb: :thumb: People are forgetting that Paris outscored us in the 2nd half 8-6.

Not I Oldrambler!! Paris was able to do some very positive things in the 2nd half and exposed some things the Rams need to get fixed before this Friday. I have enough confidence in the coaches and the team leadership that I think they will be focused and take care of business.

I was wondering' date=' how well did Raceland handle Chase Dumphord and Nick West? any specifics?[/quote']

Dumphord had 3 carries for 13 yds. West is not listed in the stats at all.

Paris had 58 total yards rushing and 79 total yds. passing.

I don't have any state sor specifics but the Raceland Defense dominated all night. I think that the Rams hasd something like 17 tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Raceland's 'O" and "D" line dominated Paris's much larger line on both sides of the ball and the Ram linebackers flew to the ball and delivered big time hits when they got there.

An interesting stat.... first downs Paris 8....Rams 6....

Last weeks game against Fairview the Rams also lost the first down battle.

:thumb: Raceland busted big plays vs. both plus our defense kept then offense in great field position all night. Short field most of the night. We do need to get some more sustained / time consuming drives though.

Put Em' On Skates was talking about Chase Dumphord, the 6-4 310 senior lineman not Cody Dumphord, the freshman. Chase doesn't run the ball!;)

And the other guy he's talking about is Nick Wilson, the 6-0 345lb lineman.

He's asking how did Raceland's offensive and defensive lines do against Dumphord (Chase - NOT Cody and Wilson)!!!:thumb:

Look for the Rams to have the same outcome as last week.

Paris-16

Rams-38

I was guilty of thinking the same thing as cville, sorry. As for the lineman ................Raceland's "O" and "D" line completely dominated imo. By thw ay Option, I love the name, I love to see a team run the option.

Back in our glory days when Paris Football was for real, that's all we ran was the Option. Rather it be 1st and three or 3rd and 35, you would see the option. I miss those days!

Are you referring to the Homer Goins glory days or the Randy Reese glory days? Homer Goins was a gem…none better. Reese was pretty good too. Reese is the only coach to take two different schools to the Class “A” state title (Ludlow 1975, Paris 1981 and 1982). As for the option, I think Goins ran the Veer when he was at Paris.

Paris is a class act, they will strap on their helmets and be competitive come Friday night. I know they’re not coming down to Raceland just for the ride….

Played for both coaches but I'm talkling about Randy Reese's days at Paris when we won 38 games in a row and won 62 out of 69 games over a six year period, which saw us not lose a district game in six years and when the playoffs was a true playoff with only one team making it from your district.

The Paris teams of today are not like the Paris teams of the glory days because they really don't know what it takes to win a big game. Back then we did. But now, they really don't know how. Paris has the talent to beat Raceland but the question reamins, do they have the heart to do it? We'll find out Friday night! :thumb:

And by the way, kids today couldn't have played under Homer Goins. ;)

Wasn't familiar with the other names. But if you look at the score of the game and the stats I think that will answer his question. I wasn't impressed with the line play of Paris from either side of the ball.

Raceland had 223 total yards and 131 return yds.

Raceland will take this by 3 or 4 TD's...

I think Paris will stay with them for the 1st half and then the Hounds will wear down and Raceland's speed and special teams will take care of things in the 2nd half.

Good luck to both teams and I hope it is alot closer game than I think it will be.

I really dont think the hounds can stop the rams on a dry field. I look for RHS to put up more points then they did last week. If they can put up 40 pts. on a very wet and soggy field, I think they can light up the scoreboard this friday on a dry field.
