Paris @ Raceland (GAME 2) Predictions

Featured Replies

I totally agree... walking around and going half speed is what will get you hurt. You always go full speed and FINISH THE PLAY...

I think what hurts Paris is YES they are small and I feel that some of them are just ready for the season to be over with so they can go start basketball. They have no idea of how it feels or how important it is to win especially during Playoffs. The teams I have seen over the last several years degress by this time of the year (Paris). They start strong and finish like they just want it to be over. That is not fair to some of the other guys that are out there every game giving heart and soul and want to WIN. Too bad Paris' team is small, because after last weeks game, those walking around would be hanging up their eqp (if I were the coach) and then they could go do whatever they wanted, and then Me and the guys that want to play would get ready to play again and work to win!

I don't know why they would be eager to play basketball, because there is no direction at the top there (but that is another thread in another forum)... These kids don't understand the tradition of Paris, or maybe that they don't care. The Paris kids just seem to be okay with being average. Whether it is football or even in basketball from what I have seen. Players have to have an inner desire to want to be good. I think the players at Paris want to be good, but they don't want to put in the work that it takes to become good. I have seen some of these kids get challenged, and when they get challenged, they come up with excuses of why they didn't this, or "it is not my fault". If Paris had the desire of a "Raceland" or an "LCA" they would be pretty tough. At some point in your life you have to be tired of only beating mediocre teams, and want to rise to the next level....

I am not sure how this game is going to end up tonight. I want to say Paris is going to rebound from last week, but I just don't know.

I will say that Paris is going to rebound, because I want them to win.

Paris has all the talent and capabilities of being good, Real Good.

Well those that want to play and have the chance to move on to college ball, will get to play in a real atmosphere. Like I said I just really hate it for those that want to win. Heck I see some of the fans and parents screaming and hollering, I think some of them want it more then some of the players! But as long as those that are wanting it are out there doing there job and not giving up or slowing down, then they gave their best. And Paris has some of those, I have seen them play. And I am sure those will move on to the next level. I see some of them in the weightroom downtown in the winter, I see who is dedicated....

Another problem I see is that they don't have to prove themselves for the position, fight for it, if they had to compete against three or four more others that were just as good, they might put more effort into it...

You summed it up perfectly with this statement.

Well Jimmy sounds like we have been around long enough to know how things should be. We have been part of the good ole days, and would like to see todays kids take part of that too. I know nothing ever came easy for me, I have had to work hard for everthing I have ever had or what I got. So hard work is part of my vocabulary, it is something that I am not scared of!

And some Good Old Fashioned Butt Chewings should be part of half-time too...

Win or lose-

I know the Rams will be without the services of two players. However, they do get back starting DB Tyler Chambers who had to miss last week's game due to an illness.

This just in! Rams ranked #1 in final Herald Dispatch Tri State Poll

Congratulations (even though I dont think it means much)!!!

That is great to hear! :dancingpa .Congratulations (even though I dont think it means much)!!!

You are correct in that it doesn't mean much. What it does mean that the Rams are getting some respect around and from a paper in W.Va (Huntington). Although I do appreciate the praise for the program I belive that Johnson Central should hold that honor (if JC is considered the tri-state are by THD). Your are also correct in not meaning much for tonight's game with Paris, as a matter of fact it means nothing. Rams have to stay focused - come out and "punch Paris in the mouth" from the start and not let up and play Raceland football or this will be our last game of the season.

JC was not in the poll.????

It is a shame that a paper from another state gives us more attention than the ADI.

Are you saying you don't think the ADI has given Raceland much attention this year?

I am not only saying Raceland, but all of the area's high school sports programs. We have a bunch of talented young men and women who need to get recognized for their acheivements on and off the the playing field.

It seems to me that most of the articles these days in the ADI are from the AP wire.

I'm pretty sure there is/was a nice article on Raceland in either today's or yesterday's edition of the ADI. I'm pretty sure the ADI has only 4 people on their sports staff, so you can see it's pretty much impossible for them to have someone cover every school in the area on Friday nights.

Boy I guess I really got off of the subject of the thread!

Rams 35

Greyhounds 14

by the way, this is just an opinion not a debate.

Don't feel too bad Aries ;) , if you haven't noticed that happens a lot on bgp. Imo we all have been guilty of that on different threads and times.
