Hey everyone just heard from the Denton family. Brett has a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season. Tyler only has a bruise so thats good . The Denton's maybe coming to Lex to meet with a surgeon to see what the best game plan would be. I hate to see that because Brett is such a fine young man and very good leader on the team.

You are correct in the quality of young man that B. Denton is Austydak, a person could not fine a better family than the Dentons, good Christian people. My best wishes and prayers go out for him and his family. He is only a sophomore and will be missed on both sides of the ball, especially at linebacker. With him being a soph. hopefully he will be able to re hab the knee and come back strong. Prayers go out to Brent and his family. The "Ram Family" sticks together. Also it was good to hear about Tyler Boyles, I was fearing that his injury would be worse. Brett, you will be missed the rest of the way this season but I know that you will come out of this stronger mentally and physically, your spiritual strength will see to and carry you through that. Tyler, glad to hear that yours was not a serious as expected and hope that you can come back full strength soon.

I just spoke with the Denton's this morning. Brett is on crutches for a couple days and has a MRI tomorrow. They are hoping just a sprain, but not sure of severity. Mom said he will not be available for this weeks Paris game not sure if they face LCA if he will play then either.

Let me recommend Dr. Rick Lyons - he is the BEST in Lexington.

He ended up performing the surgery on my son last year and he came back to play the last 9 games of his Senior year for LCA only 13 weeks after surgery!

He also worked his tail off to do that.

She was my 2nd choice - she actually scoped both of my knees (old Catcher) at the same time - Arthroscopic.

 

She does alot of the UK knees as well.

Thanks for the update and keep the coming, I for one appreciate them and I know others do. Bret will be missed in the rest of the Rams playoff run but there is no way i would want him to try and come back too soon. I don't know a whole lot about it but from what i hear a MCL heals much better and faster than an ACL. Prayers go out to b. Wasn't familiar with the other names. But if you look at the score of the game and the stats I think that will answer his question. I wasn't impressed with the line play of Paris from either side of the ball.

Raceland had 223 total yards and 131 return yds.

I was told that Nick Wilson wasn't playing DT friday night, that the junior Travis Angel played Defensive Tackle. I was told that he plays good at any position and kept the Raceland QB moving all night long.

 

I read the local write up today and it says that Paris held Raceland to one score in the second half, and yes Rambler is correct Paris outscored them in the second half 8-6.

I hear that on flimthe hit that hurt Bret was an intentional IMO this player should be banned from play till the injured player returns to play and if caught again banned from football. PLayers work hard to learn the game they can learn not to take cheap shots. Im not talking about accidents or clean hits just intentional cheap shots

 

 

What number did the kid wear who got hurt? I was at the game and didn;t see anything appear to be intentional, but on a film you are able to slow things down and really look at things. I don't think Paris would go out and intentionally hurt a kid. But like I said, I have not seen the film.

Played for both coaches but I'm talkling about Randy Reese's days at Paris when we won 38 games in a row and won 62 out of 69 games over a six year period, which saw us not lose a district game in six years and when the playoffs was a true playoff with only one team making it from your district.

 

 

The Paris teams of today are not like the Paris teams of the glory days because they really don't know what it takes to win a big game. Back then we did. But now, they really don't know how. Paris has the talent to beat Raceland but the question reamins, do they have the heart to do it? We'll find out Friday night! :thumb:

 

 

And by the way, kids today couldn't have played under Homer Goins.

I too remember those wonderful days - I went to Paris when Homer was the principal, and he didn't take any crap!

 

95% of today's team could not play for Goins nor could they go to school with him.

I don't believe it was intentional either. I wasn't there, but I just don't see it being intentional.

Did Paris have any personal foul penalties?

Fannin may step on the sidelines, but Parker will probably fall on the sidelines. His coordintation (ref: Fairview game) and singing skills are both suspect.

 

But as I said previously, he has been wathcin that show and his dance skills are coming around.
