April 3, 20188 yr Author I thought he was terribly overrated in high school. Good call by me. :lol2: He has definitely progressed in his three years at UofL.
April 3, 20188 yr Is he projected in the first round? I looked at several mock draft sites and none that I saw had him listed. NBADraft.net had him going #45 overall in 2019. That was the only place I saw him named. I guess he could move up if he is really impressive at the combine.
April 4, 20188 yr Ray is set up to have a nice, long NBA career given his long arms and athleticism. He will make a good center in small-ball rotations.
April 4, 20188 yr Is he ready to play in the NBA? I don't think so but if he works hard, he can find a team.
April 4, 20188 yr Has he developed a motor and offensive game? I don't watch Louisville enough to know, but was unimpressed with both of those areas in highschool.
April 4, 20188 yr Author Ray is definitely an NBA talent. Is he ready to go right now? I would lean towards no, but I’m not sure how another year at UofL would benefit him.

April 4, 20188 yr Author He would benefit from the coaching of Mack. Absolutely. But my point was, is he going to gain enough ground going into next years draft that it's worth risking injury by coming back?
April 5, 20188 yr I won't even pretend to know the slightest thing about how NBA GM's decide who is worth the investment, but to the untrained eye, Ray was clearly the best player on the court for the majority of UofL's games. He's tall, lanky, noticeably put on muscle each year, and seems to still have room to get bigger. He needs a more consistent jumper, but I can't blame him for putting his name in the draft.
