Well at this point, I just gotta go on pure power of belief. I do think Scott County wins, but screw it, I'm picking Central. I do know that to be in it they have to continue hitting threes at the clip they have been, and they're going to have to find a way to deal with Moreno.

WC's 1st quarter today was the best quarter of any team in the tournament thus far. They were absolutely on fire. They were just good from there on. Their 1st quarter today team wins the state, their 2nd-4th today quarter team loses to the Cards by 8-12.

In the 4th Quarter they went 11/13 and 3/5 from three. I'd take that too!

A combined 20/24 and 8/12 in the bookend quarters.

I'll pick Scott County, but this one could go either way.

WC will not duplicate their last performance, SC wins by 15.

Someone explain this 71-39 loss to Oldham County to me.

Central has typically not performed well in their first holiday tournament. That's not a new phenomenon, I've noticed it for years. I said as much in the thread about the Oldham County tournament before they even played Oldham. Oldham jumped all over them early, punching them in the mouth. Central was bothered by their pressure, both full court and half court, and missed a bunch of layups early. 17/44 for the game, 0/7 from three. If you don't hit open shots against a good team, you're in trouble. When they pressure you on defense and make those open shots hard to even come by, you're in trouble. It happens.

I'm not saying this team is that team, but it's worth noting that when Central won their state title in 2004, they had lost to Apollo by 25 in the King of the Bluegrass. They beat Apollo by 24 at Rupp.

^^A lot of water under the bridge since that loss.

It just jumped off of their results page at me.

Oldham County also shows a 20 point loss and a 20 point loss to John Hardin, so go figure.

As you say, On a given day........................................

Predict the winner of this game will be cutting down the nets on Sunday.

Warren wins and Covington Catholic cuts the nets. They beat Moeller CIncinnati and they blew Scott out.

Covington Catholic only beat Lexington Catholic by 1. Scott Co. won by 15. Comparing scores of common opponents is meaningless and out of context. They can be skewed to fit any argument.

If Scott county goes on to win it all, ruminate on that all year Trinity. You had so many chances down the stretch to win the game, and could not close the deal.

Thank God for Trinity football.
