I listened to Coach Biggs interview after the game. He was very emotional and had a hard time speaking at times. He said this lose was on him.

Inmates running the asylum is OK in your book? Kids don’t follow rules, coach needs to make that though decision. Hats off to coach Biggs.

Those kids kicked them self off the team. Probably should have been gone long before they were. They had plenty of chances.

Inmates really I thought they was high school kids? Biggs is responsible for letting it get out of control in the first place. Then he’s responsible for allowing the assistant coach to do what he did at Lewis County, but that’s right blame the kids, not the coach. I guess that’s what happened at Ashland too? When is it Bigg’s fault?

Not sure what the situation was or what the assistant coach did, but actions in the classroom and off the Court are not Biggs fault. I guess the kids had no parents or should not be held responsible for their actions? Blame the coach. Why not.

From my observations of the Mason County program, until someone named Feldhaus becomes the coach of the Royals they are not going to be happy.

 

Also from by observations of the Mason County program, I've developed a greater appreciation of the job that Chris O'Hearn did there during his tenure, and he too, was often on the "hot seat."

 

A quote about coaching the Royals sticks in my memory - "At Mason County coaches age in dog years."

Ashland firing Biggs had nothing to do with team discipline issues. In fact he kept the kids on a very short leash which in turn caused several athletes to opt out of playing basketball and focusing solely on other sports.

 

It always baffled me when he went to Mason County and the discipline problems started to arise because that is not a characteristict of Biggs teams at all. Then once those players were not kicked off the team it made me think that he wasn't solely in charge of the program and that some higher ups likely wanted said kids to remain with the team.

 

In short, Biggs has done a great job with the team this season given what he's had to overcome and what he was left to work with.
