What would the Camels be learning by continuing to press against a severely out-manned team?

Campbell had not played in 3 days, and won't play again for another 3 days. They did not choose their opponent. Would Kentucky stand down to an opponent in the NCAA tournament? No. They would play their game regardless of the opponent.

The Camels played half court defense the entire 2nd half. They could have won this game 160- 12. All they did was play their game for one half of basketball. Cry me a river.

What did Covington Catholic Football learn bashing in Campbell County?

CC's big 3 didn't play at all in the second half. It's tourney time and the girls need to stay in game shape. CC called the press off with a couple of minutes to go in the second quarter. If you've seen them play this year, then you know this is what they do. Also, CC played half court man the entire second half. Bracken had plenty of chances to get shots up.

I say you get what you deserve! If you give it to others, then better be able to take the same!

This coming from a BC fan! As my grandmother would say that is the pot calling the kettle black. To translate you guys are the last ones to gripe.That goes for you and your girl's coach!

I will say this, putting up 98 seems like a little much. When you have that big a lead, no fast break baskets and run some offensive sets where no one can shoot till all 5 girls have touched the ball. Hopefully no one for Campbell County was pushing to get to 100. That would certainly be unnecessary and unsportsmanlike.

Mercer 96 - 10 win in the 46th district the other night.... Sacred Heart had a 95-21 point win earlier this year...... I don't think anyone really likes games like this, but they happen...... In football threads, after a team gets taken behind the woodshed, and there are local northern Ky teams that have put up many 60-70 point wins on lesser opponents..... I read posts saying they need to work harder, and prepare better if they don't like the result.(which is just crazy talk most of the time IMO)...... but in girls basketball, the better team needs to take it easy on an opponent that is having a down year. It's all high school sports.

Just curious as to how many of those teams were called "classless" on here?

Sam was on a State Championship Coaching Staff at Holmes. I don't recall them doing this.

 

I know Sam well enough to know he wouldn't complain anyway. He coaches his kids, plain and simple. He's a first class guy who cares about his girls more than anything else.

I don't see an issue here at all.

I don't care the reason Beau decided to stay in the press. He wanted to hang 100. He wanted to get a definite running clock for the 2nd half. He doesn't like Sam. He wanted to get his girls easy points. Doesn't matter.

 

For someone to say he needed to work on his press for the next game is silly. This was their 32nd game of the year and he still needs to work on his press against a team that obviously was overmatched?

 

The "days off" argument is also silly. Playing the starters two more minutes in their 32nd game is going to make a difference against their next opponent?

 

It doesn't matter why he did what he did. It's within the rules and it's varsity ball. Just don't make silly excuses.
