  1. Great recap. Although, from my viewpoint the late game turnovers by Brossart were very much forced, due of the increased speed of the game the final 4 minutes. Another newsworthy fact would be that the Camels prevailed in spite of their top defensive player being out for the game.
  2. I was seated behind the Campbell County bench the entire game. Never once did Campbell County's coach taunt a Brossart player.
  3. Who is whining? This was a great game. Both coach's were into the game, BOTH coach's were talking to the officials, BOTH coach's were working their way as far as they could onto the court to coach THEIR kids. The favorite thing to do after Campbell County wins is to complain about a coach who puts more passion and energy into the game than anyone I've seen in the state of Kentucky. That is not hyperbole, it is the truth. Good luck to Brossart, they fought hard and left it all on the court. So did the Brossart coach. So did the Campbell County coach. So did the Campbell County players.
  4. This year’s MND team looks like a college team. Campbell was completely overwhelmed at every position. And yes, they probably did not forget about losing to a Northern Kentucky team for the first time ever last year. I don’t know if last year’s Campbell team could have stayed with this year’s Cougars though. MND was very impressive. It will be interesting to see how Ryle fairs later this year, as they have the height and athleticism to match up with them. Doesn’t get much easier for Campbell as Mercy is next on Saturday.
  5. You have completely missed my point. The point was that no one faulted your coach or your team last year for trying to get back in the game. And as far as a nerve being struck, to the contrary, I believe it struck your nerve that you didn’t put the “inferior” Camels away. I completely disagree with your assessment of the game. I believe if the camels had come out more focused they would not have got in such a hole. They won the final 3 quarters. I believe your super talented team was exposed for only having a couple truly great ball handlers. They did not handle pressure well at all. Maybe you just don’t like the CC coach’s style . I can’t stand listening to your Ryle coach the entire game, makes me want to stick my head in a bucket. But whatever. Campbell had an injury to one of it’s best players right before the Regional tournament last year, so I’m not sure losing a game by one basket without a starter constitutes “falling apart”. I hope your team doesn’t suffer the same fate. They seem like a nice group of young ladies and they have a shot at the whole thing if healthy.

  7. This is way off the topic of the game thread and completely misleading.
  8. So, when the Ryle coach was still screeching at the top of her lungs towards the end of last year’s game when Campbell had your super human athletes down 20, was she being too emotional? When one of your highly skilled players, with their unmatched athleticism aggressively fouled twice at the end of that game, just to get off the floor, was that too rough? Certainly it must have been your coach’s fault? Had Campbell not relaxed last year after smoking the Raiders by 25 plus points for 3 quarters, and if they had just focused, they would have beaten your Ryle team by 50, right? What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Campbell had taken Ryle to the woodshed 4 straight years and you finally beat them. Congrats. You have a nice team. Campbell played hard until the end. That is not a crime, and coaching until the end of a game and never giving up is not a crime either. You won. Be proud of your team and quit calling the kettle black and calling a group of high school athletes comical. No one did that after you were drubbed last year. Good luck to Ryle.
  9. Both Ryle players tripped over their own feet, nothing “rough” about either play. Perhaps they were getting tired from battling the Camel press in the 2nd half? They had quite a few turnovers. Weak first quarter for the Camels no doubt, had the deer in headlights look about them. They settled down and put up almost 60 points in 3 quarters vs The Raiders. As for calling out a coach for having emotion and his team playing tough, I’m not seeing it. Again, there was two non-contact turned ankles.
  10. Campbell lost 2 year starter Mallory Holbrook to a broken hand, & starting center Tamara Wells was unable to play in the 2nd half after limited time in the first half. Sacred Heart lost Erin Toller., who was utilized as a 6th man but probably at least their 3rd best player.
  11. Actually GRC was the favorite heading into last season as well. Over the course of the season the Lady Camels became the favorite. Hopefully for GRC's sake they are able to keep their main group of players healthy. Late season injuries definitely disrupted Campbell County and Sacred Hearts chances...basically handing the title to Mercer County.
  12. I heard Lexi Held was not selected for the Ohio/Kentucky All Star game. (She was later added when 1st selections couldn't attend) These selections always seem to have someone left off that clearly should be on team. There are probably too many coaches involved with their own players involved, which doesn't leave many spots left. Congratulations to everyone on the team!
  13. Campbell County's Joel Day has officially committed to Thomas More to continue his education and play basketball. Congratulations and good luck Joel!
  14. Injury bug hit both Campbell and Sacred Heart. Hopefully that doesn't happen to Mercer and at least 1 of the big 3 get to play it out.
  15. It was not my intention to slam anyone, I was sticking up for a Campbell player who had been slammed. And to state the fact that missing a starter may have made a difference in a 3 point loss is a lot different than saying a team could have made up 25 points. Also, not looking for moral victories, I watched Campbell win 29 real victories this season. GRC was a top 5 pre-season team this year, and that is what they look like now. Good luck to the Cardinals.
  16. The GRC vs Campbell game was clearly the championship game. Campbell had a 25 point win over Scott in the District championship (pretty sure that would be called a blowout) GRC is playing great ball but as I mentioned Campbell was down a starter and IMO was the best team at full force. Another starter (Wells) did not even play the second half due to the flu. But injuries and sickness are part of life, so congrats to GRC. They had complete control of the "championship" game vs Scott from start to finish. It was never in doubt. Campbell and GRC were the two best teams by a wide margin in the 10th this season, only one can advance. I believe GRC can win the state tournament and I will be pulling for them to pull it off.
  17. Isn't it odd/funny that her new team won another district title this year, and she won the first championship she had ever won? While her old team again won nothing and was blown out by the same team the Camels took to the wire.
  18. The camels were missing one of their starters, Holbrook. They really missed her tonight. Not making excuses, GRC is a fine team and played a great game. I do think it would've been a different story had she been able to play though.
  19. Campbell had not played in 3 days, and won't play again for another 3 days. They did not choose their opponent. Would Kentucky stand down to an opponent in the NCAA tournament? No. They would play their game regardless of the opponent. The Camels played half court defense the entire 2nd half. They could have won this game 160- 12. All they did was play their game for one half of basketball. Cry me a river.
  20. 4th Consecutive District Championship for Campbell County. Taylor Clos led all scorers with 27.
  21. I believe you are more excited about it than anyone. No one is having any parades in Campbell County. I said that it happened. Campbell beat SK and they were the best team in NKY this year. No banners, no parades.
  22. SK doesn't have to play an NKAC schedule. No fine. They do have to attend meetings for their athletes to be recognized. But, they do not have to play Conference games every year, yet they continue to do so. Minimize it all you want, my guess is there are 26 coaches out there who would be very proud of a conference title. As for this game, Campbell dominated. Clearly the better team. Good luck to both teams in the postseason!
