Must win game and Kentucky got the W. They are in pretty good shape now. Would be nice to steal one at Arkansas and win the next two at home

Overall, I thought the Cats played well, fought really hard on the boards. One of our best efforts of the year. GO CATS

Cant wait for Sat. Heading to Rupp for the only timw this year to cheer on our Cats.

This was a must-win game. They really need to get that win at Arkansas, and really need to get the two more at home. Do that, and they can withstand the loss to Florida at the end.

Very good win but still need to get a couple of more. The two home games are a must and a win at the Hogs would be nice.

UK as long as they win one more will be in the tournament. With so many teams losing a lot of games this year. UK with a top 5 strength of schedule, a top 25 rpi most likely to end the year even with only one more win. Will get them in the tournament. Even after this 4 game losing streak most people were not considering UK as a bubble team. This win today almost locks a spot up as long as they don't lose the rest (knock on wood).

What UK needs more wins for us a better seed. With it still being a tough schedule to end the year. UK if they win the rest could play up to a 5 seed. If they go 2 and 2 and win a game or two in the sec tournament they are a 6 or 7 seed. 1 and 3 and one win in sec torunament 8 to a 10 seed if the only win is against Missisippi.

Rebounds, rebounds, rebounds.

Maybe this team learned today that if you keep grinding good things will happen.

South Carolina is beating Auburn 40-14 with 4 minutes left in the first half.

Cal said it on his show on Monday. That during his time at UK if you pay attention that usually the next game after a team plays UK, they lose. Because each team gets so up to play UK, that they naturally have a let down the next game.

Which is something he said he believes helps his UK teams come tournament time. Because they spend all season playing teams who go all out against them. That it's nothing new to them once they get to the big dance.

No idea that PJ finished with 16 points.

Should've had 20+ probably.

Huge win, this U.K. team looked far better today against Bama. Rebounding was one big factor, especially on the offensive boards. Today was finally an overall effort with everyone playing hard. The Cats had 4, (maybe 5?) players in double figures. I actually saw these kids moving to get open, screening and passing the ball ! P.J. Washington had a good game, imo Quade looked very good, Knox hit some big shots today, a couple down the stretch were big. G-Alexander had another good effort.

I am more optimistic about this stretch run leading to the SEC, NCAA tourneys now after today. Has the light switch finally went on for these guys ? I thought that when the Cats blew UL off the floor and was wrong .....thought they had "it" after the road win at WVU and was wrong. So now this one led me to think that this team finally "gets it" but all I'll just say this was promising but .....we will see.

Maybe you’re right, maybe not. If they lost both road games, the best they do is 20-11. That would put them at .500 in the SEC. 19-12 and sub .500 in conference if they won only one as you suggest. 2-7 in the last nine entering in? That’d be playing with fire, especially if they went out immediately in the SEC tourney.

:thumb: I'm glad to see another stress rebounding on here. I always am a stickler on that. As for maybe this team learning ? As I said in my post, we'll see bc I have thought that a couple of times before.

Kentucky (18-9, 7-7 SEC) ends a four game losing streak and climbs back to ,500 in SEC.

For the Cats owning the boards was a major difference in this one, with the Cats owning a 44-27 advantage. Shooting just 43.8% from the floor compared to 47.3% for Bama(17-10, 8-6 Conf) Bama hurt themselves hitting just 13-21 compared to 21-28 for the Cats.

Kentucky was led by,PJ Washington(Dallas, TX) who came off of the bench to score 16 points. He totaled 28 minutes.Kevin Knox(Tampa, FL) only hit 4-10 but was 2nd in scoring with 13 points.Quade Green(Philadelphia,PA)made 5-6 shots scoring 12 points in 31 minutes.

For Bama John Petty(Huntsville, Alabama) made just 3-11 shots and led the team with 13 points.

Arkansas and Florida will be at their peaks for UK. It'll be tough to get a win out of those 2. Should win the 2 at home. They'll be a different team on neutral courts after that.

At the end of the day there are many teams with lots of losses this year. So when it comes down to teams at the end who can be on the bubble. Even with just one win. Their resume when stacked against other teams on the bubble wouldn't be close imo. A team with a top 25 rpi, top 5 schedule, in a top 3 conference, they would be in imo.

Ky plays much better with Diallo on the bench. Cal needs to start Geen over Diallo and only use him to spell the 2 guards.

It was nice to see the team fight and finally show the ability to close out their opponent. GA had a few nice defensive plays down the stretch and Vanderbilt shined again on the boards while netting double digit points.
