Bracken County vs. Saint Patrick

Tuesday, February 20th | 8:00PM at The Fieldhouse

2018 39th District Tournament

The Polar Bears and Saints meet in the first round of the 2018 39th District Tournament at the Fieldhouse. The last time these two played was in last years tournament with Bracken County winning 68-53. Jason Hinson and Aaron Rigdon will meet for the first time since they were players at their respective schools in 1995.

Polar Bears: Bracken County comes into the tournament at a record of 4-23. After their devastating loss to Williamstown we've seen a different team in Brooksville. Giving up an 11 point loss to Robertson County after leading most of the game, and defeating West Carter by 12. Bracken County is led in scoring by Trey Deaton, Mason Tucker, and the Fisher brothers all averaging around 9ppg. The Polar Bears have had trouble scoring all year and have been inconsistent in finding a nightly leading scorer. The Polar Bears are coached by Jason Hinson.

Saints: Saint Patrick comes into the tournament with a record of 11-19. The hot shooting team out of Maysville is shooting 37% from behind the arc on the season. The team led by first year coach Aaron Rigdon, has lost their last three games to Ryle, Villa Madonna, and high scoring 89-102 loss to Nicholas County, in which the Saints received 4 technicals. The Saints are led in scoring and rebounding by Brevin Jones (17ppg, 7rpg), who is back after missing last season to a knee injury. Falling Jones is Isaiah Garrison who is averaging 14ppg, followed by Baylen Bauer and the Swolsky brothers with 11ppg. The Saints have been battling injuries the past two seasons and finally all look to be healthy for Tuesday.

Yeah, the only thing better than one sub-par 500 team from the same District advancing to the Regional is two teams.

Nobody from the district will win a game in the region IMO. Might as well give the people what they want which is Augusta/Bracken or St. Pat/Mason.
