Did anybody else see the KCU (Kentucky Christian University) coaches there tonight? I wonder if they were scouting out some prospects?

I do have one question about the JC baseball field. I read in a thread earlier in the week that they were going to completely redo the baseball stadium? My question is WHY? It looked to me like they had a beautiful facility already.

Because every game right in the middle of the game we have sun delays and it take 45 minutes to an hour of players setting around because the hitters cant see to hit. But i do love the old facilities.

It is a great facility... but there is alot of sun delays. The baseball field is going to be turned around to prevent that.

I will miss that old facility. I spent many days down there.

Not as many as Joe Taylor.

Not as many as Joe Taylor.

Has anybody spent as many as he has?

Has anybody spent as many as he has?

Nope... no way.

I was glad to see the condition of the field tonight. The bermuda grass had turned brown, but there wasnt hardly any wet spots like there normally are.

Someone from Johnson Central needs to be sure and nominate Shawn Grimm for the BluegrassPreps.com/Kentucky News Network Player of the week! I'm sure there will be plenty of Ashland fans to second that nomination. :thumb:

I thought he would get that award for his performance in the apple bowl, but it didnt happen.

I just got back from the ballgame.Congrats to the Golden Eagles on the win. Coach Matney definitely had his boys ready to play. There was no doubt who the better team was. Johnson Central ran all over the Tomcats tonight. I don't want to take anything away from Ron Blume, and the great back he was, but I would take Shawn Grim over him any day of the week, and twice on Fridays. He impressed the heck out of me tonight. He reminded me a lot of former Ashland great Chris Hutt. While Grim isn't as big as Hutt was, he still is the same type of runner. He just bounces of tackles, shedding would be tackler with his arms, and then just out runs everbody. I also got a big kick out of the man who was in charge of the music. He definitely has his act together, and is very clever with his choice of music. It was very entertaining. Congrats once again to the Golden Eagles.

You are objective and a class act, and always have been on here. One of two or three Ashland fans who are, and one of two or three who acknowledge the reality of this season. Thanks, and what a healthy, anticipated rivalry this should become.

I said this in the prediction thread... JC had to limit their stupid penalities, they had 1 false start and limit turnovers. JC had a fumble and an interception. But JC did make up for those 2 by getting 3 take-aways on Ashland.

I had one of the burgers tonight. It was very, very good. I wish I would have gotten two of them now. :D :D It looked like one of the JC girl's sports teams were doing the serving.

You can get 2 in 3 weeks. I think different programs take turns serving them. It was girls' volleyball tonight (I think).

Girls basketball. That is where I have heard that loud, unique sounding cheer before... at a JC girls basketball game.

Thanks Carl Luther for helping me with that.

Just curious, did anyone get to listen to Ashlands radio broadcast? I was just wondering on what D. Martins outtake on the game was and if he made any snide remarks like he did last year.

I listened to Dicky the entire game. He as always painted a nice picture of what was going through the game. He didnt have many positive comments about Ashlands quarter back, I know that much. Dicky's one of the best broadcast men in the state........when ashland is winning. haha.
