Frankly I don't see much evidence to support your claims that parents want this. i have already referenced a feature in the CJ that showed that the kids don't want it. We are left with some professionals that have it in their best interest to support it. It isn't hypocrisy to point out that someone is wrong, if they are wrong in your opinion.

Go out into the rural counties and outside of Jefferson County and see what the responses are.

Dont want it? I would call your attention to the original separation vote. You need to get into more counties and talk to the MAJORITY. You will hear the original vote mirrored.

How many PARENTS and STUDENTS voted? Reread your own post and then my response. I agree that the professionals from the athletic departments wanted it, it makes their job much easier. I travel plenty to the north and to the east of Louisville and talk about this subject a lot. My feeling is that the general population doesn't want it. You are basing your opinion on what? The votes of the pros with a vested interest. One thing you may consider, a lot of folks out in the state don't care because the whole thing revolves around one class (4A) in one sport (football). You factor that in with the fact that a great number of teams actually want to compete at the highest level possible and I think you'd see that number either don't care or still want a crack at the best.

I find that the general public have been misinformed. Many actually think that X and T give atheletic scholarships and recruit all their best players from around the state. They hear some misinformation like that and it only makes sense to them because of the programs success. Most just assume thats how the privates operate.

To add to your misinformation, I think many, many people see this as a rich/poor issue. They believe that if you are sending your child to a private school, you are at worse upper middle class, rich at best. And that leads to the mindset that this another issue of the rich taking advantage of the poor. You know the mindset that the National Democratic party is always spouting about the Republicans.

I would agree. I think LexCath is the lightning rod for this issue. I have had comments from people involved in things that the office of the KHSAA believes LC has been involved in things but they cannot prove it. So no penalties result.

 

I truly believe that LC is the leading school that this is focused on and not 4A football. I would say that 90% of the 190something votes that went for Prop 20, has zero to do with T, X or 4A football.

I agree that Lexington Catholic girls Basketball is one of the reasons that this vote came to play. You are also right most people don't care about Trinity and St X football, outside of Louisville.

 

But ladiesbasketball coach is right in the fact if you get out of the Louisville and Northern Kentucky area( thats the locations you described) you will have a awakening that I don't think you realize is there.

Of course they want separation. It certainly helps to eliminate the competition that you cannot beat on the field or floor of play. Nothing like a case full of meaningless trophies.
