October 22, 200619 yr Wait until the end of the current school year and then inform the KY Department of Education that all Private schools will be closing down and the state needs to find space for all of those students in the Public school systems or they can simply get control of the KHSAA and remove all of the politicing against the Private schools.
October 22, 200619 yr Yes, but my Catholic School Education taught me to understand that people made mistakes from time to time, even spelling errors and worse.....becasue we are human beings. Thats why we Catholics go to Confession, so we may admit to our sins, and to ask God forgiveness. :D Very nice is pulling yourself out of that one.:thumb: :thumb:
October 22, 200619 yr Quite frankly I could care less about the feelings of the people that support separation. If they can't take the heat then get out of the kitchen. If they really expected that there would be no repercussions from this then they are either naive or stupid (or both). You want an answer then here it is. No, I don't think that there are problems with the rules as they exist I think there is a problem with the way those rules are enforced. The private schools proposed legislation that would create an enforcement division. Why would the public schools not support this? Hmmmm? Now it's your turn to answer a question. Several of us have pointed out instances where majority wishes were overlooked or over ruled for the betterment of the whole and yet you seem to believe that just because a majority of school administrators want these changes made the private schools should just shut up and accept it. Why should the private schools not take all steps thay can to make sure what they see as unfair treatment of kids doesn't occur? To answer your question first, One should always do what they think is best for their kids. "Quite frankly I could care less about the feelings of the people that support separation." This statement is again some of the problem with your arguments:madman: . Its makes people not like you very much.

Its makes people not like you very much. Rather than make it personal, I would say "not give your position credibility." And for those that say you have to "do what is best for the kids." Nothing is beneficial for all the kids. Whatever decision makes will turn out to be not good for some party. That is just the way it is. So you have to make your call on what is best for the most without too much of a detriment to the others. Separation would have allowed everyone to play and compete. And none would have been left on the outside looking in. Again, I do believe the separation should be urban/rural and not private/public.

Its makes people not like you very much. The public side have basically accused the private schools of cheating. That impugns their integrity. Obviously the public side has little ot no concern for the sensibilities of the private schools. FWIW this is not a popularity contest, I could really care less what anyone thinks.
October 22, 200619 yr One might think that the publics are doing what you say you are doing. Looking out for the best interest of their kids? Do you concede that just might be what is going on? Did that logic ever cross your mind?
October 23, 200619 yr You keep harping on whats good for the kids. well in the middle of the Prop 20 debate last year the CJ ran a feature about the issue and the kids from both public and private schools didn't support it. I guess the flaw in their analysis was that they asked athletes, not parents or fans. The athletes usually want to compete at the highest level no matter what.
October 23, 200619 yr One might think that the publics are doing what you say you are doing. Looking out for the best interest of their kids? Do you concede that just might be what is going on? Did that logic ever cross your mind? So in your world the public schools are allowed to do what they think is right for their kids at the expense of the private school kids and the private schools are just supposed to shut up and take it? I just want to make sure I understand your premise. And FWIW I have no doubt that MANY (not all) on the public school side are doing this for what they perceive as the right reasons but I am convinced that there are those that are doing this in a attempt to make the private schools less attractive to parents and students for the benefit of the public schools.

My premise is that you want to do what you want for your kids, but if the public school parents want to do what they think is right then they are wrong? Sounds very hypocritical.
October 23, 200619 yr My premise is that you want to do what you want for your kids, but if the public school parents want to do what they think is right then they are wrong? Sounds very hypocritical. Frankly I don't see much evidence to support your claims that parents want this. i have already referenced a feature in the CJ that showed that the kids don't want it. We are left with some professionals that have it in their best interest to support it. It isn't hypocrisy to point out that someone is wrong, if they are wrong in your opinion.
October 23, 200619 yr Dont want it? I would call your attention to the original separation vote. You need to get into more counties and talk to the MAJORITY. You will hear the original vote mirrored. Again I am not for separation.
October 23, 200619 yr Then why are you busting our chops so much? And before you say arrogance from the private side I've heard just as much arrogance and condescension from the other side. And to be completely honest with you when you make statements like... cant the privates just see they are not wanted by the publics majority rules. Whats so hard to figure out about that? they want the privates to just accept the votes and not think they are above the majority, which is what you are saying. If you cannot accept the votes and then cry " Ill get a lawyer" ...I see a whole lot of arrogance.
October 23, 200619 yr I just want you all to see the other side thinks just like you all do. They want what they think is best for their kids. Both sides are arrogant. Both sides think they are right. I think the answer is somewhere in the middle of both arguments. If I was not debating with you( busting your chops as you say) would this forum be as fun?:thumb:
October 23, 200619 yr I agree with you about 1 thing. There is a middle ground. Increased enforcement of existing rules. The publics shot that down.
