Didn’t this Ryle junior class win three straight middle school championships at Gray? Really surprised they are struggling this badly.

Yes they did. Big difference between middle school and high school. Kids develop differently. Transfers. Coaching.

Thats why I’ve never understood the fascination with middle school teams and thinking it’s going to translate to high school.

Didn't expect them to win the NBA championship. I did expect them to be competitive in the region.

Walter led Cov Cath with 17 points.

Jake Walter had 19. 7/8 from field. 5/5 from FT line

CJ Fredrick had 17. 5/7 from 3.

Thanks for the correction :thumb:

Neither Mayer played for CCH

This was a 52 point win by CCH.....I wonder where @CAP is to question this obvious run up of the score and what CCH could have done differently to keep it down....:idunno:

Definitely didn't run it up. It appeared as if Ryle had zero preparation for this game. They were outplayed, outworked, didn't execute and were out coached. Certainly CCH has an enormous talent edge, bit not 52 points worth of better athletes, not to mention if Cov Cath wanted 100 points on the board they could have. You gotta question the lack of production from the Juniors (other than a healthy Vince Rankin) and Seniors from this group. Ryle seems to be the Bengals of the 9th Region at this point. A couple of trips to BB&T EVERY 3-4 YEARS AND IT'S ALL GOOD. 51-81 including Coach Mcfarlands 1st season (only winning season). I suspect the potential for better days ahead as Ryle does have 3 sophomores that can play. If the Triple Crown Mafia doesn't get involved, I'd like to see what Coach McFarland can do with Rankin and the Sophomores next year.

I see what you did there.....

Ryle's last time on the gym floor was last Thursday at Highlands, since then they have had no practice or gym time due to weather, future looks bright at Ryle down the road, the eighth grader getting valuable minutes and they have some nice players on jv.

Absolutely brutal to watch. Has this offensive scheme ever produced? Kids stand around flat footed waiting for the ball, coach has center shooting 3's, curious if he has made a shot in the paint. Press break..... Varsity has lost several games by 30+. Maybe the MAFIA can help him see what the rest of us are watching and maybe adapt to whatever he has for talent.

What is their JV’s record?

I watched both games last night and seen nothing good coming from either game. It looks like a long road ahead of the basketball program at Ryle.
