Everytime a pit bull kills someone the thread turns into "well your more likely to get shot by your neighbors kids, so don't worry about it" Seems like there would be enough to discuss about about dogs without bringing guns into it. And I don't buy that dogs only attack if they are improperly owned. Seems that there are several instances in which a dog has killed it's owner with no evidence of any abuse or neglect. Then again, if those are your beliefs, don't own one. Problem solved.

Again, just because there isn't evidence of it, doesn't mean it isn't there. Dogs do not simply kill/attack for the sake of doing so. They do so because of fear, hunger, or survival, and every now and then because of illness.
January 12, 20188 yr Can't? Nope, not saying that. A German Shepherd CAN kill. A Doberman CAN kill. A St. Bernard CAN kill. A Rottweiler CAN kill. If your argument is that pit bulls CAN kill, you're going to have to drastically broaden your attack on breeds. Not only can those dogs you listed kill, those breeds were the ones killing the most people. Pit Bulls have only been public enemy number one in the dog world for the last 20 years or so. Before that, it was Rotts and St Bernards. Remember the movie Cujo?? That breed wasn't just chosen randomly chosen. And now, are those breeds suddenly safe and not dangerous?? Heck, there was a year that dachsunds were the breed that caused the most deaths. The fact is, the "facts" concerning pit bulls are questionable and misleading at best. Even the 70% of all deaths stat. That 70% equals 22 deaths in 2016. Not nearly as big a number as Pit Bull opponents would like everyone to believe. Not to mention, often times it's hard to characterize and judge what exactly a pit bull is. Most of these dogs are mixed breed pit bulls, which means it could be any combination of dog. But the dog automatically gets labeled as a Pit Bull. Unfortunately for Pit Bulls, a bunch of idiots and criminals like the breed, and train them to be mean and nasty, and use them to show how tough they are. There are tons of pit bulls that are service dogs. The pit bull mania has been created by the media and hyperbole.

She was caring for the animals staying overnight when the 50-pound dog attacked her, investigators said. The hotel's owner said they were boarding the pit bull for the first time when it mauled her, but the pit bull's owner signed a form stating the dog was not aggressive.
