C'mon now, my earlier prediction is in trouble....let's get this thread going. Where's all the juicy debating and finger pointing?

 

Its hard to point fingers when you have no opposition, unless you want to point at yourself. By the way what was your prediction? Then you may get a debate.

One thing that may need to be noted is Matney coached teams have had a history of being "TOO FIRED UP". He is possibly the best motivator in the state of Kentucky and there is no secret that Matney and Asland have a long history, which is being brought to a head by the outcome of last season's game. Emotionally JC has everything working for them they could want: Revenge, Statewide Respect, Rivalry, Homefield Advantage, Playoff Seeding, and weeks of waiting for this game to come around.

 

I can remember a couple times when Matney's SC teams came into Belfry and played extremely tight because they were so fired up emotionally, the end result was turnovers and once Belfry broke a big play it really affected them mentally for the rest of the game.

I agree. This is always a concern when emotions are running so high. Often you lose thought of your assignment whether it be a block, hand off, pass coverage, etc because you have so much energy and adrenaline running throughout your body and in a close game that can be a determining factor of a Win or a Loss. I believe that JC will be very emotional but will harness that revenge and emotion inside and just come out a play some head knocking football. Ashland will have the same emotions as well I would imagine so we may see some early mistakes but expect both teams to settle down early and play the quality of football that they have all season.

In looking at the opponents of each team and the level of competition played, I'd have to say Ashland is more battle tested and prepared for this game. I'm not saying they're better than JC, just played better quality teams.

Why would you say this about the JC fans. I don't think any on here have made a fool of themselves or the JC fans. We are just using BGP the way it is supposed to be used, discussing who we think will win the game and why... No JC fan has done anything wrong on here besides supporting the Eagles.
