Not sure Alabama played a Power 5 schedule either!

 

Prior to last night's bowl game, The Tide only played two teams that finished in the top 20 this year - LSU and Auburn - and they lost one of them.

 

UGA played 3 top 20 teams (splitting with Auburn and beating ND).

 

Should be a great game and either team can win ...

 

The great thing is that the SEC wins either way!!!

 

What do you mean about Bamas schedule....just because the teams don't have a winning record don't mean tbey aren't power 5 teams. You conveniently stopped at top 20 instead of 25, I suppose that was to eliminate MSU. And FSU was number 3 when they were beaten by Bama

Just saw where Jennings had knee surgery, LB injury woes continue for Bama. He really abused Clemson.

This is what being an Alabama fan is like. We beat Clemson now the narrative is Clemson really wasn't that good. If and that's a huge if, we beat Georgia we'll have to listen all offseason about how UCF beat the team that we didn't and they deserve a piece of the national championship. It's never ending.

 

Your point is valid most of the time. In this case though, Clemson was really good in a lot of positions, except for QB. Everyone knew that.

IMO if Georgia doesnt make a silly mistake early, they can win this game.

Then why were they number 1? Leading up to the selection show they were the most dominant team. It's just the narrative on Bama....if they win, no one will give them their due...all we would talk about is how the system needs to be changed and how good UCF must be.

This is a tough one to predict. As I've mentioned before Bama's QB is more experienced in this type of atmosphere. I've decided to go with Bama mainly because I think Saban is on a quest. I know he doesn't block and tackle but I think he wants this championship really bad and will have his squad ready.

Hoping for Georgia to win but I believe Alabama will. Fromm will have to play well for Georgia to win.

Always hard to pick against Alabama, but it's also hard to go against the Georgia running game.

 

I can't make up my mind.

Georgia is good ...Very good and has a team that can beat Alabama but I have to take Alabama. Saban is in a position that he's rarely in ....he can preach to his team the "no respect....everyone against you", "they think we shouldn't be here", etc. theme. We saw how they came out and beat Clemson soundly with the Tide's defense shutting down Clemson. Bama is playing "mad" with a chip on their shoulder plus they have a strong, now "Healthy" team.

The pick is not simple but the determining factor is:

 

If Georgia establishes the run then they win. Kirby comes from Nick Saban's tree, and he knows that Bama's and Georgia's for that matter, entire defensive scheme is built around stopping the run. It will be interesting to see which way he tries to attack Bama. I don't think they can line up and just run the ball at Bama, there has to be some sort of QB read option for that to work.

Oh geez now your starting to sound like osu fans. Poor Bama. No one gives Bama their due even though they are ranked number 1 to start every year.
