The school board cannot be involved in any way with the hiring and firing of personnel. It is strictly a SBDM, principal and suerintendent decision. If the board intervenes in any way, they can be reprimanded or in the worst case scenario, removed.

 

The Board of Education can only hire and fire the Superintendent, board treasurer, board attorney and board secretary.

 

Now if you mean the superintendent's office, they can intervene to a point. But really it is the principal that calls teh shots.

No they can't. They cannot be involved in personnel in any way other than what I previously mentioned. It is illegal to do what you described.

 

As a superintendent, I would tell the board to not show it and remind them of the law. If they kept on I would walk out and report it. I would contact the board attorney to advise them.

And why is that THE PROBLEM? There was plenty of talent this year to not end up 6-6 period end of story. There was plenty of talent in 2015 to make the state final game. I have said it many times and will continue to say it.

 

Playing kids because they are seniors or they like the kids parents is not going to win you football games. Playing your best will get that done even if it means kids play on both sides of the ball and on special teams.

 

You only get one chance to play high school football and I think that is something that a lot of kids today just do not get.

I don't care what the thread title is changed to. I was just trying to clarify and respond to the title. I really don't care what is happenng there. I am unconcerned with HHS.

First of all, Highlands does not have a school board. Fort Thomas Independent Schools has a school board. No board member was involved in setting the plan of action.

 

Seems some are attempting to throw one or more members of the school board under the bus and they are not involved. Really not sure why these type threads keep popping up to be quite honest.

 

BW is going to be the coach at Highlands next year and that is over and done with. The warning shots have been fired by the administration that some things need to change and I firmly believe that the biggest issues here are not wins and losses.

How can ANY person say that ANY team will ALWAYS have the talent to win? That is an absurd comment to make.

Without naming names - and this isn't just a HHS thing - some seem to think that endless talent and championships are some sort of birthright.
