Strength of Schedule thus far

Featured Replies

I haven't done any math on the subject, but has anyone played a consistently tougher schedule thus far than GRC? Their opponents to date:

* Nicolas County 2-3

* Scott 4-2

* at Madison Central 7-1

* at Pendleton Co. 7-1

* Campbell Co. 7-1

* at Woodford Co. 6-1

* Paris 4-3

Next up for them:

* at Ashland Blazer 7-0

* Waggener 6-0

Kudos to GRC for lacing 'em up.

Seneca has played a pretty tough schedule agaist some of the best teams in 6th and 7th region.

I mean it’s an ok schedule. Not worth an entire thread

The last time I looked there were almost 275,000 threads on BGP.

I don't think one more about George Rogers Clark stepping up to the plate with their schedule will hurt.

The oppositions records are impressive, but how many quality wins do they have. I would say Scott County has a much tougher road.

Personally I think their schedule looks great and don't feel like anyone is trying to compare them to Scott County. Tonight's game at Ashland should give a better reading on GRC, as Ashland is undefeated and has a 23 point win over a top 5 WV team. What I gather is that GRC has put in place a schedule that will have them in really good shape come time for the regional tourney's.

Does anyone find the USA Today "SOS" rankings useful? They are usually updated on Tuesdays.

From last week -

Not really, but this is the first time I've looked at it. FWIW, it shows Ashland having the 4th toughest schedule in the State and GRC having the 10th toughest. It's only showing 3 games for Ashland though which would be prior to playing Capital High School, which is the best team Ashland has played thus far. So I'm skeptical how they decide their rankings as well as how often they update them.

7-1 Knox Central. Very tough schedule. Beat the best teams in the 14,15 and 16 with ease. Only loss to the #5 ranked team in WV by 9.

And this wasn't started by a GRC fan just a great fan of basketball and I myself really appreciate it. So far Madison Central is the real deal. They will only rise in the rankings. We played Woodford last week and they were undefeated. Tonight we play Ashland on the road again and they are undefeated.

Coach Cook had Scott Co as one of the teams we scrimmaged and we beat them. He will play anyone anytime to get his team ready for post season. That is what it is all about IMO.

That is a tough schedule to start the year.

GRC just defeated unbeaten Ashland on the road tonight. This Friday we will face undefeated Louisville Waggner on the road at Rowan Co.
