November 20, 200619 yr Did you see him on the list at the link above??? No, I thought I read in another thread he filed. That's great, he can be a mainstay for the Reds. I respectfully disagree, I'd guess Harang would/will have a lower ERA than Zito in a Reds uni. When he gets hurt, it's up in the zone. We had a link not long ago in this forum that stated his poor HR #'s which would no doubt increase in Cincy. And if I were holding the wallet, I could find a better avenue to spend that capital. I'm not arguing that Zito would not be a wonderful addition, just not for the $ he'll command. He doesn't fit your sinkerball profile either!Understand the concern, over Zito and his salary. He might also have increased HR's at GABP very well good but he's also a veteran pitcher, with tremendous poise and work ethic. He would rely on his CV, to set-up his FB and at times, he can be sneaky fast. There is also, not a great abundance of CV type pitchers in the NL and that I believe, would also work to Zito's advantage. More upside, than I believe could translate into being a consistent winner, if Zito gets acquired by the Reds....time would tell.

See Bronson Arroyo.:thumb: S3, I agree that he could do well, but would not be dominant IMO. I will say this however, I hope we get him and you can tell me I told you so in 6mos.

Let's hope the Reds can sign 1-2 quality MLB starting pitchers and they can help this season.
November 20, 200619 yr A LaRue trade is in the works... :sssh: THANK YOU!!!!!!!!What do we get a thing of big league chew?
November 20, 200619 yr Author THANK YOU!!!!!!!!What do we get a thing of big league chew? Here's what I've been hearing... Brewers sending Derrick Turnbow and Geoff Jenkins to the Reds for Gary Majewski, Elizardo Ramirez, Chris Denorfia, Brendon Harris and Jason LaRue with the Reds picking up a large chunk of LaRue's contract for 2007.

November 20, 200619 yr I've always liked Jenkins as a player. Turnbow can be a little erratic but it still a better closer option than what the Reds have now.
November 20, 200619 yr GT, I'd be all for that, but not sure what piece of that the Brewers are coveting that much? The ceiling on Denorfia, Ramirez, and Harris seem limited. Majewski is better than the Reds saw last year, but you have to put a question mark next to him. We know that LaRue isn't the crown piece of the deal. I just wouldn't get it. However, I'd be all for it.

Hmmmm, good bye payroll and hello payroll. Jenkins made $7.8 mil for the Brewers and Turnbow, was paid the minimum I believe. Guess that answers one OF spot and perhaps....does this mean Dunn, is next or some other? Git-R-Dun....
