November 20, 200619 yr I've also heard that if they make this trade, Dunn is next...Makes sense and I going out on a limb here, perhaps GT you would know more but If Dunn goes, I'm guessing package deal with middle relievers and starting pitching will be a partial return for the Reds. Freel must be staying, if Dunn goes. Some Reds fans, will get what they are asking for....a Dunnless Reds lineup. I see. Whats the point really of each club paying some of both players????Some contracts are guaranteed money and part of a bargaining deal, is you pay part of now, defer some later...than move before the large $$$ amounts kick in, later in the contracts and if frees up cash, for other deals.
November 20, 200619 yr I'm still hearing that Dunn is heading to Boston for the previous deal with Craig Hansen involved. If that brings Lowell over, I could see them giving Encarnacion a shot in LF. Strike3, I agree with you about fans getting what they wanted with a Dunn-less offense next year. Especially when Griffey sprains an eye-lash.

November 20, 200619 yr By the way, an infield of Lowell, Gonzalez, Phillips, and Hatteberg / Aurilia would be a HUGE defensive upgrade.

I don't see why we would want Lowell or his salary, E-5 is the future of the reds at 3rd!!!

I'll go on record now, if Dunn leaves....the Reds will be in the same situation, as this past season...battling for mediocrity. Be careful what you wish for Reds fans, you may just get it....except no refunds or re-dos. :sssh:
November 20, 200619 yr I don't see why we would want Lowell or his salary, E-5 is the future of the reds at 3rd!!! Then why did the Reds put him at 1B on his rehab assignment?
November 20, 200619 yr Turnbow was 4-9 with a 6.87 ERA. He had 24 saves in 06. Jenkins had a .271 BA, 17 HR, 70 RBI's, 62 runs, and 129 SO's.
November 20, 200619 yr Author Hopefully someone in the AL???? I've heard of one NL team, and I could live with it if we get some of their young pitching...
November 20, 200619 yr Then why did the Reds put him at 1B on his rehab assignment? That I can live with. So where does that leave us with Hatte?
November 20, 200619 yr Then why did the Reds put him at 1B on his rehab assignment? Agreed and where does that leave Hatteberg, I wonder. Is he the mainstay and Encarnarcion, as the Aurilla utility role, with Aurilla moving to 2B, if Phillps goes to SS.... I've heard of one NL team, and I could live with it if we get some of their young pitching...Would that be a Central Division team....
November 20, 200619 yr I expect Rich to go back to San Fran...I wish him well and the Reds fans, may not recognize this team unless they have a program in hand...
November 20, 200619 yr Gametime, have you also heard that both the Giants and Dodgers are sniffing around GABP inquiring about Dunn? I still think he (Dunn) ends up in Boston or Baltimore.
November 20, 200619 yr Author Gametime, have you also heard that both the Giants and Dodgers are sniffing around GABP inquiring about Dunn? I still think he (Dunn) ends up in Boston or Baltimore. I haven't heard about LA and SF. I did hear they are trying to get the Marlins interested...
