Cardinals fans said often in past threads that they have a psychological advantage over Beechwood because of their success versus Beechwood. So which way is it? If there is no pyshological advantage, then they were wrong in the past when they claimed there was one when they played Beechwood. If they were right, then they should believe Danville has an edge over the Cardinals.

 

if this is the case then Mayfield should be psyched out against PT with all the wins they have against us. We all know how that story has gone over the last decade.

I’m pretty sure a couple folks have already answered that in this thread. But I’ll ask a couple questions anyway...

 

I think I saw where Danville has a 9-1 advantage in this “series.” If that is correct, what is the time frame those games were played? What is the time frame of the most recent “series” between Beechwood and Mayfield?

 

I think that is valid. If the games are more recent it becomes a more compelling question about whether a team can get psyched out.

Between 1984-2003 it was called the "Blue Flue".

There could be something to that, their record against Danville is is about like Caldwell County's against Mayfield, only about 40 something to 10. Most of Caldwell county's players weren't around or have any memory's of Mayfield's dominance over them either but it still continues, although Caldwell has beaten Mayfield more than any team the last 10 years. Caldwell never seems to play well in most of the games they lose they are blown out when it should be a closer game. We will see, players that love sports make it a point to know about who they are playing and series records, some are bothered by it and some are not I guess.

I remember a few weeks back someone stated that they didn’t think Mayfield could beat/play with a Danville or LCA.

Now here is a chance to prove that statement wrong.

 

I’ve felt all season these two might meet or a LCA/Mayfield matchup.

 

So I can’t wait to hear some of these games and watch.

This should be a very interesting game. Both teams have strong traditions. I have Mayfield favored in this game if they play with the same intensity as they did against CAL. I have Mayfield winning this game Mayfield 24 to 21

Teams of this caliber, both Danville and Mayfield, don't get psyched out.

I have personally witnessed Mayfield being out coached by Danville in the past. Not saying these Mayfield teams should have won but they way they were blown out was inexcusable

This Mayfield team does play a complete different style of football than they did in the early 2000s when there were a few lopsided games though and I do think they will get the job done. Also Danville does not have the same coach they had then. I was only pointing out that I felt they had been out coached the last few meetings
