Cardinals fans said often in past threads that they have a psychological advantage over Beechwood because of their success versus Beechwood. So which way is it? If there is no pyshological advantage, then they were wrong in the past when they claimed there was one when they played Beechwood. If they were right, then they should believe Danville has an edge over the Cardinals.

So nobody said it, you just twisted what others may have said in the past to create something that isn’t there....

Oh, they said it. I am not making anything up. They said it and I think they believed it. No twisting of words. They thought Mayfield had some mental edge over Beechwood and they said it. This is a reversal of roles with Mayfield and Danville. Danville has the edge in their record of success. Do the Cardinals fans believe there is a mental edge in these situations or not?

I don't think you're going to get any bulletin board material from Danville fans .

Has any Mayfield fan said they believe Danville has a psychological advantage over Mayfield? Simple yes or no answer.

Well so far, on this thread you started, no one believes there is one, how many will it take to convince you there is not one? 10? 20? Come on man, I don't know your reason for starting this thread, but not for 1 minute do I think you even believe this. If it was just to start a little jabbing back and forth, I think you will succeed. I wish a couple of my buddies were still on this site for this thread.

Yeah but that was recent success. Mayfield hasn't played Danville in some years. Like I mentioned before In a different post, Mayfield doesn't run that same style offense that Danville was use to playing. They utilize they're speed more with the spread offense. Mayfield didn't ever run the spread against Danville. So when you have more kids on your team with speed being utilized, it presents a different style then they are accustomed too. Now im not saying they never seen the spread offense but their coach never had to worry about mayfield utilizing more than one or two players when they've met up in past games. In the past Mayfield just ran, ran, and threw on 3rd every time. It was too predictable. Not to mention, they only had to contain a couple players in the past. This isn't that type of team and hasn't been since about 08. They are going to have to account for every reciever, running backs, and both qbs.

Is that the question you meant to ask?

Did any Mayfield fan say they had a psychological advantage over Beechwood?

Yes, that is the question I meant to ask. You are saying Mayfield fans SAID Danville has an advantage.

I dont know about Beechwood/Mayfield. You are the one making up hypothetical advantages.

I'm not sure who said what, but I think it's a valid question. I'm sure a historic program like Mayfield has allowed, or mandated, the players know the history and records of the program and it could be a psychological advantage or disadvantage. I know the program I'm associated with, the players know who their program has a history with and what is expected. They know when they are playing certain teams what the all time record against that team is.

No, if I said that I misspoke. No Mayfield fan said Danville has an advantage over them - and I will be shocked if they do say that, in spite of what they said in the past when the tables were turned.

What I am saying is Mayfield fans believed and stated in the past they had a psychological advantage in this type of situation. So why doesn't that apply to them now that they are the team on the short end of historical success?

I’m pretty sure a couple folks have already answered that in this thread. But I’ll ask a couple questions anyway...

I think I saw where Danville has a 9-1 advantage in this “series.” If that is correct, what is the time frame those games were played? What is the time frame of the most recent “series” between Beechwood and Mayfield?

There are kids on Danvilles team as well that may know the record ... because their parents remind them of how it was when they played.

But ... this group of Admirals are NOT worried about past history. This group of Admirals is already making history of their own. They don't brag or boast .. they simply play.

I tell them what I have said every Friday night for the last nine years .

Hit somebody ....Hard!

I'll just leave it at that!

I would say if you are playing or have played a team several times and they beat you even when the teams were clearly even that you would be psyched possibly. But if your parents or grandparents were the ones playing it’s probably not going to effect you.

Can somebody post the year and scores in the Mayfield-Danville series?
