November 21, 20178 yr Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday. I always like to reflect on what I'm thankful for. The first thing that came to mind for me is my parents. I have truly wonderful, loving parents. They are getting old, frail, and forgetful but they have always been there for my sister and me. They fought like cats and dogs with each other when they were married, but they have always been loving and supportive parents. I'm very blessed to have had them as my mom and dad. I had great grandparents as well. They're gone now but they always made holidays really special. We would always go to their house and celebrate. My granny made the best pumpkin pies( and any dessert, for that matter). I miss them a lot but I am very thankful to have grown up with them. More generally, I feel so blessed just to be able to be a part of this magnificent universe , for which I feel a wonderful spiritual connection. I love learning about our universe and I am truly in awe of the cosmos, especially our own little pale blue dot. I know there are many problems and lots of bad in the world, but we are here for just a short time and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to enjoy each and every day. Finally, I am thankful that guru provides us with this forum to talk to one another and discuss some interesting topics. I would never have had the opportunity to talk with any of you on here were it not for BGP. I love learning new things and hearing different perspectives and I thank you all for all the feedback and insights you have provided me in my various thread topics. I appreciate you and I hope you have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. What are you most thankful for this Thanksgiving? For me, it has to be mom and dad. What tops your list? Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts.

November 22, 20178 yr I'm thankful I still have my Mom who will turn 70 next month, and I still have my Dad who will turn 78 in two months. It's been an extremely tough year for both of them health wise. I'm extremely close to my Mom. I have always been a mommy's boy. My Dad not so much. Although I have never told him, I love him. He was always very tough on me, raised me extremely tough, and never showed affection because I guess in his eyes that was a sign of weakness. I am also thankful for my sheltie.
November 22, 20178 yr I am thankful for my parents health. My mother has Alzheimer’s but is doing well, she can’t multi task and forgets why she went into a room but she knows who she is and everyone else is, what Day etc. Mid summer she had a bad bladder infection and we thought she was getting way worse and the doctors even talked of putting her into a home but she got better and is now back to her version of normal. My stepfather had 3 strokes several years ago and mom’s spell put a lot of stress on him and he ended up hospitalized briefly. He is also better and back to his normal as well. Mainly I just have to remind him not to over do it and remember that he isn’t a young man that can work all day without eating etc, things he still did after 60 until the strokes. And I am thankful for my new job. In 2014 I lost a job that I had for 12 years and have bounced around since with 4-5 jobs since. I didn’t really like any of them, but now am in my 3rd week at a new job that I like, that I am already doing well out just a few days out of training. And it’s the most $ that I have made after losing my longtime job.
November 22, 20178 yr A 3 month old who is without a doubt the most amazing thing that I’ve ever been a part of. Our incredible family who has made having a newborn seem like nothing. A great job and a wonderful wife.
November 22, 20178 yr My family, I’m extremely lucky to have all my grandparents still living and in pretty good health overall. Also my wonder little boy and wife. Edited November 22, 20178 yr by HammerTime
