How many years have you been watching HHS football? Don't get me wrong, Huddleston is a really nice player and will only get better. The part of his game that impressed me tonight was nothing physical, but how well he understands the game.

 

Since the 80’s... tell me, name the sophomores who have had a bigger impact at the varsity level.

I have several good friends among the Highlands faithful who have been touting Grady's talents throughout the season. I would have liked to see him show off his abilities more throughout the season...and man oh man I love getting to see a "secret weapon" pull out his goods later in the season.

 

I know I'm definitely pulling for a big game between the Birds and the Colonels in week three.

Cramer threw some pretty balls that hit the hands of a free receivers so his 9-17 stat line is a little misleading. He is a big kid who you can sprint out and let him tuck it and run as well. I am also of the opinion that he shouldve played some during the regular season at QB. If anything just to keep defenses honest because you could send Vennaman long and know Cramer's arm would find him for a TD at least one of the downs.

If you have been watching since the 80's then there are far far too many to name. As I said in the rest of my post, he is a real nice player and will only get better with age and experience.

OC led in rushing 158 to 132 and Lucas Jones led all rushers with 20 carries for 129 while Schwalbach did have 12 for 111.

OC led in passing 167 to 146 and Zach Young led all receivers with 12 catches for 108.

OC did pick up an interception on Schwalbach late in the 4th quarter by Jacob Ratliff giving him 5 on the season.

The second half, with their 1st team still in the game saw, saw highlands have only 3 possessions that included a 2nd down and 53. They turned it over on downs, then a punt, then interceptions.

Highlands used big plays, short fields, and captalized on a score from special teams and defense.

OC dominated time of possession 34:41 to 13:19 but Highlands dominated what mattered, the scoreboard.

It seemed to me that there were some blown calls through out the game. Especially the TD where the reff 2 yards away called TD but the reff who was 26 yards away over ruled him. This was the 1st drive of the game. Check the photo, this was called a TD for Highlands. Good win for Highlands, next up is South Oldham.

Pretty confident Brian Weinrich may be wondering if he should of Tested the waters with Grady Cramer as a Soph. Appreciate the Efforts of the past 2 QB's but it's night & day in the Skill set level. The shame is the past 2 QB's could of contributed on Offense & Defense somewhere. Both were phenomenal Athletes in their own rights.

Wasn't that TD on 1st or 2nd down? The way HHS was slicing OC's Defense with the run it would of been the next play. Highlands Inside Zone read play is a thing of Beauty when you have someone who can successfully run it. Give it to the Schwalbach kid in that situation and it's 6 points. The kid likes to get a push.

It might have been or it could have been a bad snap. My point is blown calls. Just like this none td. Look at the reff on the goal line wanting to give the TD signal but following the lead of the reff in the middle.

We talked all week how we can't respond. I'm disappointed we responded to some things. It's natural. Kids feel they were getting shoved late or things like that.
