Easy decision "SameTime".

Looks like the Boss took some time to cool off, and make the right call...

Looks like the Boss took some time to cool off, and make the right call...

The Boss wasn't going to get his ego fed from a playoff run so he had to throw his two-year-old acting temper tantrum to get some media attention. Someone must have found his rattler and blankie and he calmed down.

Torre says he will be back. I say close this one unless we hear otherwise. The title is false and misleading.

Joe is good for the Yanks and deserves better treatment. The five game sweep at Boston showed the heart of the team. Two games against the Tigers where their picthing just shut us down and looked what happened. Joe made some errors against the Tigers...Sheffield at first, ARod batting order, not pitching Rivera every inning. There will be some changes made with the pitching. Look at our offense for next year. (LUMP IN THROAT)

I had to throw this in and If I read it right, Torre's resume as Yankee manager:

11 Years

11 years in the playoffs

10 years division champs (last 9 in a row)

6 years AL champs

4 World Series rings.

Too bad most everyone's mentality is "What have you done for me lately?". :thumb:

Even if the yanks win it all next year, I wouldn't be surprised if he is still let go.

If you are talking about my title on this thread, that was the way it was reported and I stated in that one and other post following that nothing was confirmed. I was not trying to start anything so forgive me if the thread tiotle was misleading, it was not meant that way or to "jump the gun" so to speak. Now the point is that Joe will be back with the Yankees as he should be :thumb: . I am a Yankee fan and am very glad to see him back for next year. There is always a circus surrounding the Yanks and "the Boss", this is really nothing new. I will say again that I am very glad to see Torre back. I now wonder if they will deal A-Rod? I hope not (if he can get his problems in N.Y. worked out and become the player that everyone knows that he is and can be. The New York media/fans and the Boss are tough and demanding and a lot of it is imo unfair. Steinbrenner does expect his money's worth though. Imo A-Rod just needs to deal with all the critisizm (fair or unfair) better and not let it get in his head. Having said all of that, this deal would never go but what about Griffey for A-Rod?:D

Nor would I.

I'd like to see Joe tell "The Boss" where he can shove his job.

I would fire Joe Torre too. He's only won 4 rings:sleep: there in 10 yrs, who could settle for that:creepy:

:thumb:   Excactly, nice post.

I would say that Cashman had a lot to do with his decision to keep Torre. It shows that the Boss has matured as a baseball man and did not make a decision on a whim as he has done many times before. He actually sat down & listened to what others had to say.

No need to apologize Oldrambler!! You only posted what was reported & stated so in your post. At least it gave us something to chat about for a couple of days. I for one enjoyed hearing everybody's ideas on the decision to hire or fire!!
