Do you think Beechwood would drop from the #1 spot? Do you think its a bad loss IF it was to happen? Does a loss give other Class 1A teams hope that Beechwood is beatable?

I think it would be great if we had something like a "loser leaves town match". I think it would be very interesting and let's see what the administrators will do.

I disagree. A loss to New Cath would almost surely knock Beechwood from #1 and open the door for several teams to dethrone Beechwood. If New Cath were in 1A, they would be ranked 4th or 5th right now. If Beechwood loses to New Cath, then Paintsville, Hazard and Kentucky Country Day definitely have a chance to beat Beechwood.

I believe a loss to New Cath shouldn’t drop Beechwood from the #1 ranking but I do believe it will give some of the other highly ranked teams in 1A a glimpse of hope that Beechwood is beatable!!!!!

New Cath and Beechwood are basically either/or. Both could be in 1A or both could be in 2A. It's a good win or a good loss either way you look at it. 1A can't afford to drop any teams in their own rankings.

In the whole scheme of things this game means nothing....

 

And I do not see them losing to NCC anyway.

I should have said this game should have no effect on either team.....just come out healthy. It is a cool rivalry game for one that has no bearing on playoffs.

If Beechwood loses I have a shot of winning the year long NKY HS picks contest since the 2 front runners have them as their 7 point pick. I have them as my 5 point pick. Go Breds!

With all due respect and I have to disagree with you . I have seen the Beechwood team play and it's going to take somebody special to beat them . Being a big Lloyd fan I know what we did too NCC. Now with that being said I don't see Newport central Catholic beating Beechwood. I guarantee coach Rash will not sit players in this game they are coming to play and I hope Newport central Catholic comes to play but I still think Beechwood handles this game.

I look at it the other way. If NewCath beats Beechwood (and I don't think they will), then the Breds would beat the other Class A contenders as well.

Beechwood is clearly the number one 1A Team and a loss to NewCath wouldn't do anything to change that in my opinion.
