For at least two state games, the 87,88 teams could cover 6'5 guys that were committed to Southern Cal and Mich St. Covered the Mich St. commit so well that they knocked him out of the game. Could also cover multiple guys that ran legit 4.4's that started at UL and UK. Not to mention a pass rush, that gave every team fits. However you want to interpret that, have at it. It is, however, factually correct and a way to draw a comparison.

I was scratching my head a little about that one too. I know Woolf was playing for TMC in 1992 for sure. I remember going to see him play there that year.

 

Not sure if he might have gone to another program previously.

 

I also know there are some folks who don't differentiate between D1A/D1FBS and D1B/D1FCS. When I say "D1", in general, I mean FBS...so the folks we're going to see competing for the college football playoffs and for bowl games in January. There are a lot of folks - particularly seniors who are making their offer announcements on Twitter - who don't differentiate between the two.

87 team opened with a 7-6 loss to Boone. Pretty sure that was the year Boone lost to Shelby in the 4A finals, a team they had beaten easily in the regular season.

I’ve talked to a few of the 88 team and we agree these past Colonels would beat them. 98’ was stacked on defense and had quite a few in the defensive backfield with Fowee, Pfeiffer etc.,and Wolfe killing running backs on every play.

2006 has Bleser throwing to Bovard and Sutton with Buckley and Brown in the back sharing carriesWhat a defense with Sam and company! Special group.

Highlands team with Nevels, Mitchell, Stowers and company would have beat this team.
