Two teams playing from Campbell, one had to lol.

Mustangs draw first blood by marching 65 yards on our first offensive set culminated by a Tyler MacDonald to Bryce Donnelly touchdown completion for a 6-0 lead, and when T-Mac ran a bootleg into the endzone for the two-point conversion we led 8-0.

 

The next time we would score would be with 9:47 remaining in the third quarter when Tyler MacDonald found Bryan Duffy over the middle for a 59 yard touchdown pass. The 2-point conversion was no good.

 

However, in the meantime the Greyhounds had run off 38 unanswered points and the hay was in the barn, as the Greyhounds secure the District 5 top seed and improve to 7-1 overall on the season. The Mustangs fall to 4-4 on the season and are on a three game tailspin.

The Mustangs played without the services of our top defensive player, Nathan Bezold, who sustained a torn ACL back in the Nicholas County game, and has since tried to muscle through it, but it has been determined that he will need surgery during the off-season, and in the meantime has been fitted for a brace, which will allow him to finish our the regular season vs Pendleton County and into the playoffs.

Paris was slow to get started last night but give credit to Mustangs QB as he carved Paris defense up on first drive. Paris defense shut the Mustangs down after with the exception of the long TD pass in the 2nd half. I suspect Bishop Brossart experienced more sacks, hurried up throws and punts than in any game this season. Paris defense reminded many of hard hitting of past teams. Will be interesting to see game stats. Both teams had good crowds. Good Luck to both teams rest of season.

Brossart 148 total yards (132 of those yards were through the air and 59 of those yards came on their last touchdown when the game was well out of reach and 64 yards came on their opening drive of the evening when they took the 8-0 lead) after that, they only managed a total of 25 yards!

Way,way off in this one with the BB upset pick, even though I didn't know Bezold was going to be out for this one for BB and EJ was okay to play for Paris when I made the pick.

Paris was very aggressive on offense and defense. Seems like they have 6 or 7 offensive threats and plenty of depth on defense. Paris had a lot of hard hitting gang tackling hence, Bishop Brossart netted 25 yds on 27 attempts and the Mustangs passing game effectively controlled.
