One thing that CWB didn't mention was after the FG by Gronotte, CovCath with about 2 minutes left in the game, took out it's starting D and replaced them with the Senior who hadn't played while Chatard kept in their starters.

Those seniors did a great job in keeping Chartard starters from scoring again.

Are you talking about that offense that 2 Which is 3 yards...and a cloud. Cooming football. Chatard would have heard a lot 3 and outs,

Lots of teams have got down to defeat thinking the other team was too one-dimensional to beat them.

Let me sum this up again:

CovCath is a very good 5A team but did not play as well as they are capable of especially up until the final minute of the first half.

Chatard is a good Indiana 3A team who plays a tough schedule and is 3-5 and lost decisively to all the bigger good schools but that schedule will prepare them for their postseason competition.

If these teams played again 10 times CovCath would win all 10 times and the margins would be similar or greater.

This is the best CovCath team in quite awhile and they have the opportunity to run the table and maybe at the end of the year they will be among the best NKY teams in the last decade but there were some pretty good Highlands teams in the last decade too.

I knew that Cov Cath was going to have a really good team earlier, just wasn't sure what their full potential was. At this point, it's fair to say that they are more than capable of playing with anyone in the state and plenty of other quality teams regionally.

Careful...something similar happened in 1992 with the Colonels. State finals media guide got printed with CovCath (undefeated at the time) QB Adam McCormack on the cover. Colonels were shocked by Highlands in the 3rd round of the playoffs by a VERY good Highlands team....and a downpour the night before.

Any. Given. Friday/Saturday/Sunday.

The rest of the competition they face will not be able to stop the passing attack. It’s supply and demand. CovCath has a Dale era passing attack. Short of a Trinity or maybe a Scott Co. teams don’t have enough 16 and 17 year olds to stop it.
