DevilMayCare Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 (edited) The Admirals (7-0) rallied from a two touchdown deficit in the 2nd quarter to defeat Tates Creek, 27-24 in Week 6. Quarterback Zach Thornton accounted for three touchdowns (2 passing, 1 rushing). Both teams combined for 19 penalties for 182 in a game marred by poor officiating. Somerset (5-2) made a 3+ hour drive to Raceland and came away with a hard fought 16-13 win. QB Mason Reese threw for 260 yards and 2 touchdowns (one to Josh Cornett, one to Kade Grundy). The post-season implications here are huge. Danville has won the last four in a row over the Jumpers. Ads running back Don Harris nearly ran for 300 yards in last year's game. Jumper_Dad Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 As normal, Danville's speed will be a tough match up for the Jumpers.
Wireman Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Danville will be in for a battle if they don't get Harris and Warren healthy
adstimes10 Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 The question I have is can an anemic offense of Somerset score enough. I think the Ads were we and special teams are good enough for 14 pts and just not sure Somerset can put that up on Danville. One plus for Somerset is that Danville has been limited the last few games due to injuries to key players both ways. I still like Danville.
Statsdontlie Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 It all depends on Danville's Qb Zach Thornton. If he plays well and gets the ball to his play makers hands I like Danville. If he struggles getting the ball to Vancleace, Walker, and Warren I can see Somerset stacking the line to stop Harris, and Somerset will win.
SX1250.1 Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 Don't see Somerset scoring enough points to win this one. Danville by 3 scores in a game that seems closer than the score refects.
Science Friction Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 My heart says Jumpers; my head says Ads. I'd say my heart will take the loss. So typical. Hard to see the Jumpers being able to outscore Danville.
Statsdontlie Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 The last few games Somerset and Danville have played has been close, low scoring games. I don't see this game being a high scoring game either. Somerset is supposed to have a great defense.
Bac2369 Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 I figured this thread would of picked up better
