You know PR all you have to do is say Mason has a homecourt advantage which everyone knows they do whether they need it or not it is there.I think most everyone would like Mason fans to just admit it and it would be over.I like the region at Mason as it is close to home for me but I would drive to see it wherever it is held.:argue:

The regional tournament should always begin with the following statement:

 

"GOOD EVENING EVERYONE AND WELCOME TO THE FIELDHOUSE!!!"

What I will continue to say is that the best team wins the ballgame on that given night. The best team wins! Your trying to pull me out of my belief and it just is not going to happen. Again the best team wins ballgames no matter where they are played!:sssh:

The tenth regional tournament is widely regarded as the best in the state... From personal experience, I would have to agree. Also, it was not uncommon to have 6500+ in the Fieldhouse during the semifinals.

 

You apparently have never been to an 11th region tournament. Especially the one held at The Frankfort Convention Center last year. AWESOME. Best playing facility in the state.

I say congrats to Montgomery for a first class facility , However i like the old school feel of Mason kind of like a page out of Hoosiers alot of history there and I think it should have not been changed dosent appear to have as much seating or standing room only room as Mason but Congrats on a first class facility

There is a reason why your in the 14th, and its a good reason because of location. Never understood the trip your school had to make, therefore realignment was good for you and your area. I really don't think the drive had anything to do with your school or players do the 40th district and the time you spent in the regional tournament, or lack thereof. Best of luck in the 14th!

Actually, the 14th is not that much better location for Estill County than the 10th was in years when the tournament is held at Knott Central, Letcher Central (this year), Perry Central, or Hazard. It's still a 2 hour + drive for the Engineers and their fans. But because we rotate our tournament,unlike the 10th region until maybe now, Estill won't have to travel very far when it is held at Breathitt County and Powell County, assuming Estill makes the tournament in those years.

 

I really feel bad for the Estill people because their location geographically would place them at the far corner of any nearby region they could be placed in. If they were in the 11th region, which they once were, they would be the farthest school toward the southeast. If they could be in the 12th, they would be the farthest school to the north. They were the farthest southern team in the 10th, and are now the farthest western team in the 14th (edging out Powell by about a 20 minute drive).

But the 14th is a better fit for them, and they won't have to travel as far in at least two years of our 6 year rotation plan.
