Bad loss for CovCath.

Agreed. Would have liked to have seen a more competitive game.

Watterson isn't in the top 10 in D-II,

While Watterson isn't in the top 10 of D-II, they are currently 14th and have a good chance of finishing in the top 10 by the end of the season. Watterson's only loss, a 17 point loss to Westerville South, is looking better and better as the season wears on.

Ohio AP State Poll

and it was a home game.

Agreed.

WOW...Tough year for CCH

How so? 4 - 3 is where most fans figured they would be after 7 games. Most would agree there is nobody in Kentucky 3A as good as the 3 Ohio teams who have beaten the Colonels. Hopefully the Colonels have learned some things about what they need to work on and make improvements heading into district play.

I sat in the stands, like you, and watched Brandon go through all of the drills you speak of. I also saw him go back into the game and limp around horribly. I can't imagine why you'd risk your best TB and starting CB by letting him go back in during a non-district game that you were already getting soundly defeated in. That makes no sense to me.

Agreed 100%

Is Castaneda ever going to see the offensive side of the ball? I'd say the bye week would be a great time to start working him in at practice, and subsequently getting him some reps in the S Oldham/Grant County game.

Does'nt look like it, Brent Buckley should be back after the bye week and will be your starter with Brown(as long as he's OK) as your backup

I don't know DD, I don't recall CovCath losing any games to this point that were clearly the favorite in....can you? :sssh:

Where are you getting the impression that Watterson is down? NCF, who lives in the area, said before the game they were better this year. Additionally, their only loss is to a good Ohio D-1 team in Westerville South.

NCF was right, they are a little better this year than last year. But even at that Bishop Watterson needed to beat CovCath to stay in the playoff hunt. They were ranked 8th in D-II Region 7 standings heading into the CovCath game and now after winning they moved up to third.

Well, from what I understand, Col. Watterson is not ranked in the Ohio D-II top 10 right now. Also, one of the Cincy/NKY papers that picked CCH to win stated that Watterson was down from last year's team that beat CCH badly.

WOW...Tough year for CCH

I would say losing to Boone County would qualify as a "tough year". CCH on the other hand beat them by 40+.

They are still by far the 2nd best team in NKY with 2 opportunities to prove they could be the best.

That is great news- I thought Buckley was done for the year.

nothing torn, just a seperation of the shoulder. Originally they thought he tore ligaments or whatever the heck is in your shoulder but original thoughts were wrong

He practiced some last week.

I'm getting that impression because they are. Last year, they were rated near the top of the D-II poll all season, but took an early exit. This year, they aren't in the top 10 in D-II. That makes them down. Make no mistake, Westerville South, is no Colerain, St. X., Elder, or even Moeller or Lakota West.

When one team leaves the game talking only about the kicker (he's good), it might be a bad loss.

I think W-South would be just fine against Elder, West Lakota and Moe but they would not hang to well with Cincy St. X.
