Was at the Murray State vs Tenn. Tech. game with Long Time Warrior, and the MSU coach chose not to go for a FG in the first quarter from the 21 yard line (it cost MSU the victory). Then in the 4th quarter the TT PK missed a 15yd FG and a PAT. Note, neither of these kicks were blocked just missed, then I get back to my hotel to read about Pop. WOW, if he isn't signed by someone and given full ride, then something is really, really wrong.....

This will sound odd at first blush, but the defense played really well today -- especially given the circumstances of a limping CB at FS and an inexperienced WR at CB. Special teams were anything but and the offense continued to sputter. I agree with Sandman, that was a bad loss. Was it meaningless in the big picture? I don't know. It didn't look meaningless to those boys wearing the helmets. They came out there expecting to compete, if not win, and weren't able to do either. The 6 inches between the ears is a valuable piece of real estate, and I hope yesterday's game doesn't linger there.

Lots and lots of silly mistakes.

The best team won, no question.

Bad crowd, bad result, bad, bad, bad.

If Brandon Brown has something broken and was out there playing then that is beyond ridiculous. That is unconscionable, especially in this game.

Anyone have a score for the Campbell Freshmen against Cov Cath Freshmen?

CovCath outgains Watterson in yards in the 1st half 164-162, and goes to the locker with a 18 point deficit....that will tell you a lot about a game.

After Brandon was hurt they taped him up and he said he wanted to go back in the game. They asked him to do certain things(running down the sidelines, stopping on a spot and turning, etc. etc.) unfornately he did them all and went back in the game. He returned a 40 yard kickoff and intercepted a pass playing on what is either a severely sprained, broken, or torn ligaments in his ankle. He will see Colisimo on Monday, good look Brandon we'll all hope for the best.

Another showcase of how badly CovCath needs their special teams to dominate.

Question: How does Col. Watterson compare with Col. DeSales this year? I know Watterson is in a larger division, but it sounds like they are down some this year, and DeSales seems to be having a good season. Will they play each other this year?

Watterson hosts DeSales on 10/6.

Where are you getting the impression that Watterson is down? NCF, who lives in the area, said before the game they were better this year. Additionally, their only loss is to a good Ohio D-1 team in Westerville South.

I sat in the stands, like you, and watched Brandon go through all of the drills you speak of. I also saw him go back into the game and limp around horribly. I can't imagine why you'd risk your best TB and starting CB by letting him go back in during a non-district game that you were already getting soundly defeated in. That makes no sense to me.

The discussion of point-spreads in relation to high school games is squarely not permitted. If you have any further questions, PM me.

Thanks.

Is Castaneda ever going to see the offensive side of the ball? I'd say the bye week would be a great time to start working him in at practice, and subsequently getting him some reps in the S Oldham/Grant County game.

Does anyone know if this series is complete? I would hope CCH would drop this series. They seem to play very competitively against the larger Cincy schools, but by the time they get to this game, they are stonewalled for whatever reason. I like the border rival games against Elder, Moeller, St. X, or LaSalle early in the season, but I would like to see CCH fully rested by the time it's district.
