There are numerous songs from the Trainspotting soundtrack that instantly make me think of the movie when I hear them so there's no way to pick just one, but one that sticks out as one that revolutionized my introduction to Techno and Trance at the time was definitely Underworld's - "Born Slippy"

 

Just like Trainspotting, the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack is chuck full of tunes that I cannot hear without thinking of the movie. Just like Trainspotting igniting my interest in Techno, VG stimulated my intrigue to revisit 70's Glam that I hadn't paid nearly enough attention first time around.

The music of the French movie Les Choriistes (The Chorus) completely melts my heart, and every time I hear various themes from the film I get a lump in my throat and my mind instantly revisits what a beautiful movie it is.

 

I've been raving about this movie for years now and can't find one person to take the bait except for a French friend of mine who I gave it to as a gift. Even I'm more obsessed about it than he is. If action shoot'em ups are your thing then might as well stay away, but if you can appreciate boys choral singing within a heart melting story that's somewhat similar to The Sound of Music, then I highly recommend it.

I associate the song "Born To Be Wild" (by Steppenwolf) with the movie "Easy Rider."

To add to my earlier ones, I'd say there's hardly any that are on the Dazed and Confused soundtrack that I don't immediately think of the movie. In particular:

 

Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion (opening credits)

War - Why Can't We Be Friends (hazing scene)

Foghat - Slow Ride (closing credits)

Alice Cooper - No More Mr. Nice Guy (paddling after baseball game)
