What bothers be them most on this thread is that 99% of JC fans realize that they are no where near a program as Highlands, Cov Cath, and Bowling Green but you get one fan on here that is in the minority of the group who posts something stupid and all of you act like it's Johnson Central's fan base as a whole that believes this. I can guarantee you that the majority of Central's fan base cringe when people like the poster above, who made the ludicrous comment types anything on here. Am I happy how JC is playing? Yes I am. Do I think that they are a top five team in 3A? No I don't. That's why I hate preseason and regular season polls because there worthless. The final standings is the only thing that's worth a darn. So please people just because one member on here says that Johnson Central is in the same class as Highlands,Covington Catholic, and Bowling Green don't think that the entire community and fan base thinks this way. Xyience please use better judgment when you post because when you don't, you get nothing but grief and Johnson Central usually gets a black eye out of it. I hated that I had to post on this subject but something had to be said.

:thumb: Good luck to the Eagles. This year's 3A playoffs are going to be tough for all teams fortunate enough to make them.

That was a classy post . . . and it is the truth.

In the future--I am going to try to keep things in a better perspective.

For the record--It would not bother me in the slightest if Johnson Central does well. And--it would be great if they could beat any of those teams. (All 3 would be tough for ANYONE).

Matney is a great coach--and knows what he is doing. There are definitely some great athletes in that area. It isn't that I wouldn't want them to win--I just think that those 3 teams are pretty good (usually heads/shoulders better).

I was lucky enough to correspond with Ron Blume last year during track season--if there are more kids like him in Paintsville--then I HOPE that they succeed.

Good point, probably should have considered that.

FWIW, I think Mayfield should be above Bardstown, too.:D

ABSOLUTELY!!!!:thumb:

As for the 4th region, as of right now Id still probably say that Rock is the favorite even though they arent ranked in the top 10. I like Bell's potential, but they have to quit making so many silly mistakes in order to win the region. Johnson Central seems much improved, but they arent a proven winner yet.

I cant remember the last time, other than Mason Co. a couple years ago, that a team from Johnson Central's district has won a region, so until someone beats Bell and Rock for the region, those 2 teams are the favorite.

Has Bell's offense been sluggish or have the teams they played like Leslie and Corbin, had great defensives?

Every poll thread I have posted on, I have always said this... polls are only good for discussion on bluegrasspreps.com

These two are jokes this week. Undefeated or no, Marshall County at #7 after their performance against Greenwood, and Apollo at #10 after their LAST SECOND win over Daviess County is a joke.

I agree Dragonfire,,,,,,,,,,How does the AP come up with this ?? Crazy.

The AP rankings are a joke - maybe could be used as bulletin board material or as kindling.

Field conditions against Leslie certainly affected the offense. It took the kicker out of game as well, not going for field goal, etc couple of times due to conditions. Leslie is a better team than most credit them, it was at their house, and they played solid defense. Bell made turnovers that cost them. This has been the story all season. Bell is young. Young teams make mistakes in first half of season. Look for Bell to overcome these mistakes and their new offense to solidify midseason. They could be a real force come playoffs. Corbin played Rockcastle to nearly a tie. They are much better than their record and always a strong opponent for Bell. The Corbin game came down to a field goal, but Bell had two key turnovers that led to the fourteen points that Corbin had in second-half. Each time they were inside the ten yard line and ready to score when they turned the ball over. Bottom line is they still find ways to win. A good game against Madison Southern will get them ready for Rockcastle, but the weather again could be a factor in KY on Friday night. It's Bell homecoming and I believe they will be ready to make a statement.

I agree 100%. We really have no idea how good JC is because of the competition they have played. I do know this...schedules are usually made a couple of years in advance with usually a home and home for each team. A lot of the games on this year's schedule were the second game of a home and home. So, it was hard to do anything about this year's schedule. With the realignment next year and the home and home contracts ending, there will be more open dates due to a smaller district and coach Matney will have an opportunity to toughen up the schedule. Also, JC has had a problem with teams cancelling on them and then having to scramble to find an opponent.

So, I have no problem with people questioning the strength of this team. However, I believe that JC has what it takes to make a strong run in the playoffs. All of this talk about whether JC could beat the top three teams in the AP Poll is nonsense. I just hope we have the opportunity to find out.

Because a lot of AP voters seem to pay more attention to a team's record than the quality of their opponents.
I found it on http://www.wymtnews.com website and then go into sports overtime.

It is listed there.

I think the extended had Lincoln County 20 in 4A. Great job this year and good luck down the road.

Um what about Ryle?

If JC played any of the 3 teams ahead of them on this poll, they would beat them. And no, I'm not being biased, that is the truth.

Are you being serious? I am all for this area getting recognition in the polls but do you honestly feel that JC could be Bowling Green, or any of those teams for that matter?

Personally, I would not go that far. But, I hope we get the chance to find out.
